Martin Montoya

I don't get why some of you are saying that Montoya is somewhat mediocre and lacks potential and upside. He's a right back, not a winger or a forward. His job is to defensively and offensively secure his flank which he does marvelously. He shows unbelievable maturity while doing so and doesn't make many errors plus he has great positioning. What more could you want? He was on par with Hugo Mallo (but now I'd say he's better since Mallo is out for a LONG time with a serious injury) although I can't compare him to Carvajal because I haven't seen him play. If Montoya develops well, he could easily be the most reliable and solid right back in the world.

Montoya should get some playing time soon, for now we're going with Alves since we're playing difficult opponents and Alves has been excellent

Fixed it up for you a bit.

Arbeloa is a dirty slimey cunt but he's a better defender than Montoya. Montoya has to earn his scalps first before he takes that dirty mouthapucha's starting spot. I give it two years.

Maybe Spain's NT should use Puyol with Ramos at RB. Tbh, I think that's probably what would have happened in the euro if Puyol were able to play. Puyol's old, but he's still class. He'll be too old by the world cup though. I think Montoya should be able to take Arbeloa's spot by then. Spain's defense will probably be Montoya-Ramos-Pique-Alba.

Either Montoya, Carvajal, or Azpilicueta could take it. Montoya plays for the most suitable club but Azpilicueta gets more playing time. Carvajal is good but playing in the Bundesliga is a disadvantage for him.

Disappointed he got the call-up today, but no match time. Oh well, hopefully soon.

An outsider might perceive that Montoya has left the club or is out long term SMH
If i could i would escort him to the field to make sure he plays next match

Yeah. I really want to know why he's getting zero playing time. I mean for goodness sake, he's played for Spain. Every time I watch him (on the rare occasion he plays that is) he shows great maturity; more so than any other RB they have when it comes to defence in fact.

Maybe Roura doesn't have the balls to play him.

Against Getafe? Roura might not be qualified but i doubt he's that stupid. Playing Alba was stupid (though that guy is a machine, he can run for eternity). We should have gone for Montoya+Adriano. I swear next time Montoya plays it will be like a new signing
I fear there might be something going on behind the scenes

This guy is our best bet at defense among the masia grads. Could be the perfect mix of attack+defense like Alves has one time or even better at defense. Defenders need playing time to get more mature and calmer.

No room for the kid right now. The Triple A batteries we have as wingbacks all need to get mentally ready for CL and classicos n the next few weeks. Montoya will get his time after March in la liga when its all but wrapped up.
