I mean no disrespect, but since when has Norwegian league been comparable to Croatian league?

Read my above post. I said not too far apart, I didn't say they are the same. I'm done defending what he did in Norway any more now anyway, he's in Real Madrid and will train with Ronaldo and Co. so it obviously means his achievements meant something.

No point in arguing with you. Of course you'll defend the talent from Norway.

Where would he get a better development? Fighting relegation with Eusebio as that project crumbles more and more apart for each passing week?

Perhaps Bayern, but again the deal they offered didn't give him the same guarantees as Madrid. Again, training with the first team during the week and then a few days with frikkin' Zidane before playing a game every weekend will be insane for his development.

Castilla also has good chances of promotion to the segunda division in the summer. Barca B? Who knows...

Somewere along the lines of ajax would have been more suitable for him in my opinion were he can develop in not such a pressured environment even play first team.football on a regular basis

Again, that could be our loss. If Ødegaard becomes the next big thing it was worth it, and Real Madrid can laugh all the way to the bank while we cling on to our principles with tears in our eyes as he scores against us in a clasico.

So be it, then. Sometimes principles are more important than landing a huge star, the next big thing, the talent of the 21st century etc., you name it. Imagine breaking our salary structure with him and having to renew existing players with much higher salaries, let alone future new signings.

I agree that we did not pay diligent and serious attention to this kid and missed out on him, too bad. Now knowing how much he is getting paid by Real Madrid, I can understand why he picked Real Madrid over Bayern, a club known for its financial discipline.

That all depends. There are risks going that route as well. If he really has what it takes, then going straight to the top is not a bad idea. Going to Ajax means one more move that could for different reasons go wrong, and to keep climbing the ranks from there might not be easy. This move ensures him progress and an awesome resumé should things not work out.

All the principles were held when landing Neymar i presume? :neymar:

I heard Bayern offered him more money or just about the same at least.

That can't be true, 4m pounds = 5.3m euros per year, Bayern will never pay that kind of salary for a youth player. Kroos was only allegedly making 4m euros per year at Bayern.

How can you even compare this unestablished kid, as talented as he maybe, to Neymar???

Come on.

He's not comparing Neymar and Ødegaards talent. He's talking about the principles that we so steadfastly held when we signed Neymar, principles that have become quite famous in the media the last year.

Well thats true but having overpaid flop at real madrid on your resume isnt so great and at madrid his every move on the pitch will be scrtinised. Also look at all tje hot prospects who have got greedy an went to big clubs and flopped. If he had went somewere like ajax an proved himself at that level.then the big clubs would come calling

Exactly so id say hes took the offer for the money more than footballing reasons
Some people in this thread are communists or what?

1/ Money is not a bad thing. What could be bad is what you're doing with it, and what you are asked to do to get it.

2/ There's NOTHING wrong in choosing the best salary if two companies offer you the same job with the same kind of best environement you can find.

3/ Choosing the best salary doesn't mean AT ALL that you don't care about what job you're asking to do, nor it doesn't mean you won't SHARE the same PASSION at work if you earn 0 or 10k euros per week.

WTF guys, are you kids that live in that pink stalin world or what?

You judge this kid based on nothing. You dare saying he doesn't care about football but just about money. Based on nothing. You're just a bunch of butthurt kids.
