Martin Odegaard

With Castilla failing at promotion to the Segunda and Barca B almost certainly being demoted, we can at least get "mini el clasicos" again - if they get into the same group that is. How does that work again?

Though I'm sure Martin will get loaned out now, I highly doubt they want him to play in the Segunda B level for a full season, he's too good for that and it would be bad for his further development.

Can always hope that he will gt chances in the last two la liga games, if he does well then maybe he could be in the a-team next season. But i really doubt it, too early.

Watching the video you linked, he really improved as the game went on (nerves getting to him in the opening perhaps?), with some truly great moments on the ball and linkup play with his teammates going on towards the end there. His vision and linkup stand out to me, and I love how unselfish he plays, always releasing the ball instead of opting for the egotistical choice. If given the proper environment to develop further the next couple of years he could become a great midfielder and perhaps be ready for La Liga by the time he's 18. The trick is now for RM to find that environment.

Loaning him out would secure him better opposition, but not more minutes. With the Castilla he would probably become a regular starter, and of course continue doing trainings with the first team and Zidane... That alone is worth quite a lot as well, so it could perhaps be a point to keep him there and let him play in the Segunda B with the Castilla for this reason alone.

Shame they didnt go up, doubt this division is at a high enough level to improve significantly. I also dont like the loan system to much. I just feel that loaning out players rarely do them any good, but maybe thats just me.

So according to AS, Ödegaard is to blame for Castilla's failure to win promotion. Seems like Ödegaard made a good choice in going to Real. :p

Such bs, they clearly havent watched any games, just read the bs rumors and the statistics with him on the pitch.

He looks like a great prospect based on that last game

I believe that was one of his best games for Castilla so far though, he has been a bit up and down with them really. But i feel his teammates are not on his wavelength sometimes, the chemistry between them doesnt always look that great.

He really didn't look that out of place playing with the first team. His positioning, ball handling and passing was very good, he even got close to getting an assist had Jese just converted that chance, which was a big one might I add. I just wish he had seen more of the ball...

For someone who is just 16 years old he's incredibly good. He looked older out on the pitch. Incredible talent, no doubt.
