As a norwegian who has had both German and Spanish as a third language in school, I can say that learning Spanish was actually easier than learning German, at least for me (and most seemed to agree at the time as well).

on a sidenote i read in the Transfermarkt forums that he has changed his 3rd language from spanish to german when he entered secondary school this autmn.. If its true, that could be quite a hint.

Kohe, why was Spanish easier than German?

Personally as an English speaker I find German easier than Spanish.

And I know Norwegian and German has many linguistic similarities...

They do, it's not really that big of a difference, but I found German grammar to be a bit harder than Spanish. Also, words in Norwegian and German are not always as similar as they may sound to people from the outside, so that wasn't a very big factor in how easy it was to learn actually. For some reason I also felt learning to write and speak full sentences came easier in Spanish.

Wenger is good at developing youth and giving them enough time. The only thing I fear is that the EPL is too rough and physical to be a good place for him to grow in the future, he's mainly a finesse and technical player, and spending his youth years in the 60m sprint league could hamper his development. A more tactical league would be better. At least him moving to London would solve the enormous language barrier we've been talking about.

I actually doubt he does. Judging from a lot of interviews I've seen he seems like a really down to earth and humble kid, not looking for attention at all - doesn't seem like there is even a gram of "prima donna" traits in him.

This is what people keep saying about him all the time, how humble and down to earth he is and what not (guess this also inadvertently increases the hype on his shoulders)

Moreover, it is also rumored that he is an extremely hard worker, though I cannot really testify to this, only what I heard from some Norwegians and read in a few articles about him..If this is true, really hope he stays that way

Don't think he'll stay as humble as he apparently is now. This kid is compared with Messi ffs. It'd be a burden for me to be compared to the greatest ever but I'd also be very proud. He'd have to cope with the bullshit the English press published all the time and he is only 16!! I can't imagine that such a young kid is able not to feel like the superhero + to cope with the pressure he'll certainly have.

We'll see, but he definitely doesn't seem like the kind of person that will turn cocky. He seems much more like an Iniesta or Xavi type in that regard.

Guys, it's not as if he can choose to be popular or not and followed by the very best clubs around.

When you're that young and as talented as him, it's unavoidable. It's not as if he can hide in a cave or reject big clubs to prove that he's not cocky.

Is he really that good to be considered truly the next Messi, not just those random "German Messi", "Iranian Messi" or "XXXXX Messi"?

I still don't think joining Bayern is most sensible thing, unless he expects to be promoted to their first team soon, or he is going there for the sake of Pep.

Bayern's first team is the best team in the world right now, but Bayern's youth academy is not of the best. I have been told even Schalke's academy is better.

Turns 16 today....Well, here is one for a happy birthday to Martin, what a surreal year this one has been for him, from Stromsgodset's reserves to having trials with Liverpool, Bayern, Arsenal and so forth...

Thus far, he has handled the pressure quite well, but we really are about to see how well he fares with tremendous pressure now....Best of luck kiddo, you'll need it

He would probably train a lot with the first team anyways.

And what do you mean "even Schalke's". Schalke's youth system is excellent and they have a lot of reach in the Ruhrpott area.
