How about Hummels + Bartra the later has pace that is criminally underrated he kept pace step for step with Gareth f*cking Bale while injured but somehow he is considered slow

I am not judging him just because of his pace, he looks injured and he is not that slow imo. Messi will defeat any player in 1 on 1 even in that state, you need 2-3 players to stop la pulga. I think hummels is so similar to pique, he goes forward very often like pique. I would buy hummels for 60M if he was bought as a replacement for pique. Hummels + Bartra with one defensive fullback is damn good. But hummels pique alba and alves not good enough, plus hummels does not tackle that much but he does it better than pique. Bartra is a good tackling type defender but still no where near puyol and masch in that regard. Bartra hesitates to make challenges, if he changes that hummels+bartra would be fucking epic.

Even i don't know honestly. I haven't see him play much, i am sure he is a good defender but i don't know how he is. Maybe people who watch lot of seria a will know?! According to fifa 14 he is faster than hummels and pique.
