Yeah... T Silva would be great to have, but he's too expensive for his age. Better to get Hummels and a younger fast cb.

Not sure. Silva is better, not to mention he fits our needs better (he's fast, etc), but Hummels is younger and cheaper.

I think getting Silva + someone like Marquinhos or Inigo Martinez would be ideal, though I'm not sure how realistic that is.

No doubt Thiago Silva is better than Mats but still they should buy Mats, 40m is way too much for a 28 year old defender.

I like both but I think Thiago Silva is a safer bet. Hummels is great but Silva's fit the profile of what we need in defence better. I know he'd cost a lot but we'd still get a really good 4 or 5 years out of him so I think it would be worth it. I'd be happy with Hummels also but I still have doubts about him and Pique playing together.

Silva turns 29 in september, that is pretty much the beginning of the season. He is injury prone. He is expensive. Maybe the best in the world though.

Hummels is younger. A beast in the air. Can Pass. Is very intelligent in his positioning and marking. Probably not as expensive as Silva.

Hummels is my pick.

Yeah, I am veering in this direction myself except I do think Silva is a guarantee whereas Mats is a gamble in many ways...Also, getting a 2nd CB like Martinez or Marquinhos is probably more likely with the cheaper Hummels
