EMD are saying that Zubi wants Hummels and Tito wants Silva.

I don't wanna sound too negative because there's enough people doing this already for the entire board but we honestly look like headless chickens in the transfer market.
Hummels was in his last year of contract last year & openly flirted with a move to us but we didn't bother signing him even if it was clear as daylight that we needed a CB.

mats is cheaper, 5 years younger, better in passing, better in air, his salary surly will be less than silva!- we must consider wages,it's already a serious problem -

Thiago. Because Hummels won't considerably improve the defense. He'll help with aerial balls and that will be the only improvement over Mascherano.
When Dortmund played at home against Madrid they took the initiative. Which means they left more space behind the defense. That's how Barcelona plays week in week out (even more offensive). The result? Hummels got exposed and cost Dortmund a goal. Just like he cost Germany when he defended Cassano like a schoolboy. In the second leg Dortmund sat deep, played on the counter and defended in numbers. That's when he put in a MOTM performance. And that's how Barcelona never plays like.
At Barca we would see the first leg Hummels more often than the second leg Hummels. Thiago Silva is a completely different animal. Age is no concern either. The most successful era in the club's history went from 2008 - 2011/12. The best defender in this era was Puyol. Now go and look up how old Puyol was in this time frame when he played the best football of his entire career.
If he's getable, throw out € 40 million for Silva without hesitation. Who cares if it's maybe € 10 million too much at the end? lol This is still Barca, not Arsenal. We have the weakest defense of any top team and some people want flavour of the month players like Inigo Martinez. Fss

Why is it that people assume hummels will be cheaper his contract experiences in 2017 for goodness sake and Durtmund don't need the money
Don't see a problem buying a 29 year old if it were a case where Tito would be developing one or two of the talented defenders in masia 17 and above who could start to replace him in 4 years time, but given that this is unlikely and that thiago is all pace which he will lose in his 30's .
I simply say use your scouting networks and find a younger defender who can stay and grow with pique, all our beat defensive buys over the pace decade of been cheap players Marquez and pique.

Silva. He still has several years at the top level in him. He's a defender. His age is perfect.
And I don't understand why people are so uptight about the money, it's not your money they're spending..? And a CB is our priority, so it's not as if we'll be skimping on something else important if we spend big on Silva. Neymar is apparently a done deal, that's our addition to the attack. Why the fuss about the money?

negotiation with silva will be complicated and probably will waste our summer and finally he won't come here (like last year)! he is not 100% sure about what he wants, one day says i love barca and another day says i'm very happy at psg and will stay here for many years! but hummels wants to leave dortmund and likes to join us! we need to have our new players from the beggining of the summer!

injury prone 29 year old expensive or not nearly as good, doesn't strike me as a leader, made a lot of high profile mistakes this cl. i don't want either one.

Hummels. I just don't have a good feeling about having Silva. Many Brazilians tend to diminish significantly when they reach 30s. I'm afraid all this money is spent for Silva who also was dealing with quite alot of injuries this season. The last thing we need is having another CB at the sideline.
