Updates:

- Juve thinks he is too expensive for them

- FCB got Pavard for about 35m and L. Hernandez is very close

- No news regarding Militao and RMFC

- City will have about 200m for the summer and they are looking for a LB, CM and CB

are city even selling their players ? how do they manage to spend every summer like 200 mil ?

Don't think City need him.

They already have Laporte, Stones, Kompany and Otamendi. They also have some talented defenders like Sandler.

Maybe Liverpool ?
Gomez is a huge talent, but he's also an injury prone. Lovren is shit. Hoever (also played in the Ajax youth academy) looks very promising tho. But he's only 16.

On redcafe everybody wants De Ligt to sign for Man United. But i dont see it happen.

If Juve thinks he is too expensive for them.

There are only 2 options
Barca
Liverpool

Or one more year at Ajax.
Maybe Real is preparing an offer? Are they still interested in Militao ?

We'll have to wait i guess.

Think Ajax fans will be happy, if he stays for one more season.

This is the kind of things i don't like about the Ajax players.

Even when the guy actually does poor defending, it is branded as genius defending.

Maybe i'm just an anti-hype guy.

I still think he might be one of the best in the future but not the beast he is portrayed right now.

Think United will be in for him if they can't get Koulibaly. They have good relationship with Raiola and ton of money. However, the first option belongs to Barcelona due to having de Jong already.

City is rumoured to have 230 M to use this summer, it might influence prices of certain players.

Not just Ajax fans.

Your PSG brethren on this forum were claiming Kimpembe was the better player and much superior talent to Umtiti not so long ago.

He's obviously a good player, but I can name five French CBs you could argue are better or around on the same level or have a higher ceiling....

No one is perfect. There is no PERFECT defender. Even the best defenders make mistakes sometimes.
And De Ligt is a beast for his age. But he still has a lot to learn.

It's not like you're buying the best defender there is. But he has all the assets to become one of the best.

Most people are saying that v Dijk is de best defender at the moment. De Ligt ain't that good yet. But i do think he has the potential to become even better within 2-3 years.
I saw v Dijk playing at Groningen and Celtic. And he wasn't this good at the age of 19-20.

De big problem with De Ligt is that he needs to play in a top competition on a weekly basis.

I'm no expert on Ajax nor can I say I have watched de Ligt 100 times, but from what I've watched of Ajax and de Ligt which is prob more than most people generally, I really think this guy is the real fucking deal and a big part of that is his leadership.

You cannot teach that. This guy acts like a 33 year old Italian veteran. And I believe that's special and something we really need in our backline in the future. A guy that pushes his team mates and has high standards of himself and everyone around him. Not the type to back down in a tougher environment either.

Players like this are van Dijk obviously, Koulibaly, Ramos(I know he's a cunt and all that, but ask any Madridista and just watch how different they look with and without him), Godin and arguably Chiellini.

True. We could use that mentality. Mascherano was similar leader and before that Puyol, of course.

He is by far the most important player of Ajax.
Ajax without De Ligt is like Real Madrid without Ramos.

His development is impressive. He already was really good when he was 17. I remember him playing in the Europa League final. But now he's the real deal.
It's like the captaincy made him that much better.

Last season he sometimes still made stupid little mistakes. This season he's pretty much flawless.

People on the dutch television (i have family living in the Netherland) already thinking he's better than v Dijk.

So ya, the hype is real.

Nah i live in Holland and watch every Liverpool game too.... De Ligt is not yet on VVD level but in a few years he will and surpass VDD. VDD is a calm leader with an aura that improves everyone around him, De Ligt is warrior leader which will lead battles like Ramos a bit different style...

This was bad defending for sure.

Godin & Chiellini both plays in defensive oriented teams unlike us even with EV. While Ramos, VVD & Koulibaly are all very athletic defenders which can't be said about De Ligt.
I am not saying I don't like him or he won't be good, but there is a serious risk with him and he will need another athletic CB beside him with Barca just like Pique needed a Puyol/Mascherano/Umtiti beside him.
tbh, for me if I am gonna choose paying huge sum for a youngster, I would choose Felix over him comfortably.

Does barca even have 75-100m left to spent? Or are outgoing transfers expected? Like rakitic

Barça is a very rich club. They are getting the biggest kit deal with Nike soon and they have players they can trade if needed (Coutinho, Malcom, Rakitic, Vidal, etc.).

The question is whether they think de Ligt is worth it or not. They have already Umtiti, Lenglet and Piqué and they have to evaluate the potential of Todibo.

Personally, i think it will be done, just because de Jong and de Ligt connexion is so big and you never have enough talent (as shown when they bought Malcom for the sake of it).

Irrelevant? During the FdJ saga this forum was going all accountant about wage bills and net spendings.. Surely barca has access to another 100m but not that doesnt make it a sound financial decision..
