Mavericky Puig

He will be the best midfielder in the world. Dosen't matter whether it is at Barca or outside. To think "Koeman dosen't see him in his style". I'm trully, utterly lost for words. WOW.

hahahaha, this is what I was talking about people overrating La Masia players.

Love to see that guy having another meltdown though.

The one running this account has his photo with Puig as cover photo for sometime. He has a huge football crush on the kid.

Got to wonder why Puig is out of favour though when someone much less ready and who needs a loan much more to develop (Pedri) is still with the squad.

Let's be honest here, Pedri might be the biggest young talent we had since Messi, or at least Thiago.

If a coach see that, he might think keeping him growing organically within the club is better than loaning.

Why should we even have a double pivot system in the first place? And it's not like Koeman has done great things with his tactical acumen before.

Huge part of 4231 is forum favourite FDJ, having him in his comfort position and building team around him.

I think the problem is that Puig has been the one shimmer of something different in the midfield in recent times but he’s out the door. It also doesn’t help that Koemans reputation at some clubs is absolutely zilch when it comes to building squads. He’s been very hit and miss. I guess if a guy like Klopp comes in with his track record you support it but Koeman has not really done anything for people to particularly trust him.

Discarding a La Masia graduate and local lad probably doesn’t help his cause. I expect to be honest he’s probably surprised at how much backlash this is receiving too.

You know how bad it is when rival fans like Real Madrid are shocked by this decision.

In a meritocracy system, Puig is a top 3 player for us.

Didn't people want 4-2-3-1? It was clear Puig was gonna suffer when you increase the forwards in the starting line-up from 3 to 4.

His spot was basically replaced by an attacker. Probably Trincao by the looks of it.

I am all for 4-2-3-1 , I think it's the only formation that would work for us as long as Messi is here, if Puig has to leave on loan for 1 year because of it, it's won't be the end of world.

For me, it's not because Puig is like a prime Iniesta.

It's more due to the fact that Puig, so far, looked better in the double pivot than Alena and Busi imo and Puig's already the one to be discarded before those two.

Why not give him a chance this season and see how it goes?

This is my biggest gripe. I personally don't think a pivot of Puig and Fdj would work against good teams , but him getting discarded before Busquets is the mindblowing part.

Add to the fact that Koeman sees Coutinho as an LW which means in the CAM position ( where Puig imo would fit better than as a pivot) He would only have to compete with Griezmann ( lol) and Pedri.

Yea, I agree. I had a different strategy to fix this conundrum, but... it is what it is.

Don't think there are too many teams that play the type of footbal that favors Puig.

Busquets is not more physical than Puig despite his height. Alena is not more physical than Puig despite the larger build.
Alena can't do it in 4231 either because he is a poor player, doesn't matter that he is taller and stronger than Puig. Like Alena is some tank that played all his life 4231 and is a good a double pivot.

The mental gymnastics to rationalize this decision are funny.

Pussyquet, Alana and Koeman will probably only be exposed vs strong teams which Barca only play when it matters the most.

Messi's last year down the toilet where Koeman's face belongs

I hope he stays because I don't think cowman will last beyond this season.

Puig will prove to all his doubters (like he already did many times), that he he can be more useful than Busquets and Pjanic even if he is played out of his position.

Oh yeah, forgot about the other tank workhorse that is Pjanic. At least he has experience, passing and shooting going for him unlike Alena.

So far all the resident forum clowns can only shit on Puig for things he might "hypothetically" suck at because of his size. Nothing for what he's actually done on the pitch, which is fit in like a glove offensively and be one of the hardest pressing dogs in the whole team.

Shame on those people here, and their entire understanding of the sport lol. Saying he's not even worth a 10m player or would get benched at Betis. The same mouths who at points were calling Rakitic for a world class player because of his 2km/h pace and sideways passes... lol

Also lol considering how many people in this forum were praising "The Koemannder" 2 days in saying he's a revolutionary coach and wants to decapitate the amigos and bring life to the team, while Messi was holding us back and trying to undermine him.

The narratives here are just so delusional it's funny, just how far downhill the forum has gone over the years. Actually licking the boot and following the narrative that a guy like Barto and his hires have laid out on a platter for you. Just please open your eyes to who you're in bed with.
