He was just playing the "inverted Pedri"-role for the last minutes of the game
Nothing self-righteous about it. Do you honestly think he will get better playing 5 minutes once every 3 games? He is clearly not trusted by Koeman, the example is the Alaves game where Puig did very well and then didn't see minutes for weeks.
The situation won't change for him next season at Barcelona either. He's got the tools to develop into a very good footballer but without playing regularly that won't happen.
I just read it as not so well-hidden spitefulness, I might be wrong.
He is at Barcelona now, and he is doing well when given the chance, he doesn't moan at all but is the first to cheer from the bench (even if it is to the cameras)
Of course he needs to play! He will play soon enough. As he is good, I want it to be in Barcelona, but as I said, even if he is willing to stay and fight for the rest of his carreer, Barcelona will of course tell him to go after a while.
In general, I prefer players willing to stay and fight for their place. It's almost always the opposite, them leaving the first chance they get.
I don't think I ever saw a player constantly impress so much with so little time. Cristiano Ronaldo was a bit like that in his first years at Manchester United, always bringing a lot of energy and then getting back to the bench...
It wasn't just your posts, but okay! You read it wrong, as I rate Puig. But it's getting to the point that a year playing football somewhere and learning means he will come back a better footballer which is of both benefit to him and Barcelona.
He has many good sides to his game but also a lot of deficiencies that experience can coach out of him.
Puig still, while we're basically at the end of the season, being not only content, but overly enthusiastic about these garbage minutes he's getting is not a positive, no matter how twisted.
Told he'd have a minor bench role at most, had a chance to confirm it in the first part of the season, still happy about his place in the squad. And not only that, I bet he'd stay next season too. Ceteris paribus.
Bwah, you type Riqui Puig gif into google and tons of craps come up. There is even Dembele face merged onto Riqui head for some reason.
Seems Riqui has a fanclub of 5ft teen girls who convert all his tweets, toks and cameos into gifs for our comedic pleasure.
