Lmfao finished club struggles to get fkn Depay over the lIne

There is an improved agreement on the table for Memphis Depay, as Barcelona want to avoid another ?Wijnaldum case?. The current contract offer is until June 2024.

Of course it's hard to bring in good players who are starters for Nederlands and are free of contract. These aren't some scrubs nobody wants.

Well Depay must decide. We can't do anything if PSG comes again and triple our Offer money wise. Let's not kid ourselves, it's all about the money

Where are the football players who want to play for their childhood dreamteam ?? Everyone wants money nowadays.

Players born in 90' or 95' grew up with Milan, Man Utd and Arsenal.

Yet all of them joined Barca, Real, City, Chelsea etc.

A current generation of players also didn't join their childhood-dreams clubs but current rich and famous clubs.

When are you gonna drop the Depay analysis ?, I need to know if he's a choir boy or if the look in his eyes is the right one.

Depay in his final season at Utd only started one game, a cup match against a low division team. When he left he was quoted as saying he wanted to ‘play more freely, be important for the team, play in a top European league and for a manager with a clear style of play', MEN

That was a few seasons ago, and Lyon was deemed the fit.

PSG, Juventus or Barca?

Yeah he was very hyped when bought but left United having scored two goals..

And after five seasons in Lyon, where he got to be important, he placed 4th twice, 3rd twice and 7th once, in a league where both Monaco and Lille managed to even win the league in the same period. He didn't even lead his team to 2nd place. Lyon were placed 2nd the two years prior to Depay joining.

But this year he at least scored 20 goals (8 of which were penalties) and assisted 12 (with a pass completion percentage of 70,5), so after 5 years he is suddenly a good fit for Barcelona.

Let's see if he gets to be important in Barcelona and what he'll bring then, or if he doesn't get to be important and what he can bring in that case. I'm starting to think that even I am over-rating him.

starter for netherlands 10 or 20 years ago would have meant something. starter for the current side? not so much.

can't even remember when they've last had a national team this bad.

Do you want Barca to sign Depay or pass on him?

Assuming salary is reasonable and around what was said to be offered for Wijnaldum?

are you going to haunt me forever with this question?

i've already said that i prefer depay over wijnaldum. so it's a yes, but a cautios one.

for me it seems he's a luxury player, like fekir for example. a guy that when in the mood can be very good, but otherwise he disappoints when you're expecting the least.

like one of those sports cars that is high maintenance and you drive only a couple of times a year.

just too many question marks around him. for a left side forward it would be a good stop-gap. for a striker at barcelona he's nowhere near the required level, for various reasons.
