Memphis Depay

Needs to get his act together and fast. The amount of resources we give to him in games, creative freedom and allowances to have only 3 open play goals in 15 starts is unacceptable. Takes every penalty, every free kick, every corner. Loses the ball at least 20 times a game. Barely presses or defends at all. And he isn't even really a source of goals at all. Even Braithwaite could score more if you gave him that level of freedom on the pitch.

He may like to think the 9 is his position but it's clear he has no idea how to play it. Off ball movement is awful, no aerial threat, finishing subpar and hold up play isn't great either as he gets pushed off the ball easily despite his physique. So no point playing him there, you may as well leave him on the bench.

The role in which he is a positive factor for the team is left winger/second striker where his major strength (creation, key passes, flickons etc) can be utilised better. He does create a lot of opportunities for others and if we had a top striker he could be much more useful. But currently playing him in a Messi style role where he can hoover up all the offensive resources just doesn't work as he is not that player and team plays better when he is actually getting other players into the game.

Have Fati play higher and with more freedom to push up and Depay sit deep to create chances for him. Fati clearly proven to be an at least decent finisher so he could take advantage of this strength of Memphis.

He hasn't had proper teammates to play with. I think Fati and Depay will combine well and if they can add Dembele to this, it should be good mix. I expect good things from these three.

I agree, that his results ain't good enough so far. He needs to do better.

Ajnotkeith you have described him in the best possible details. I fully agree with you. But I could go further and bench him and give somebody else a try with a better speed, ball control, better defence and good feel of the goal. For sure, Braitwithe will be more useful than him, but hopefully, we may be able to bring in a replacement for this guy. I can't wait to see him out from Barca team.

Played well in the first half and was the only attacker in the second. Was often kinda ignored, not sure what people are on about

I think Xavi will dislike his attitude very much. Completely different player to what modern tactics would require. He better change his ways fast.

No chance for this guy. Better get rid of him beside Luuk de Jong in January. Get sick seeing his tattooed muscle on the pitch. Such an useless player Barca (Cowman) brought in.

100% correct to bring him in but he is not good enough for where Barca need to go in future.

Season of him improving squad then sold on in summer would be decent all round.

He is a first attacker of the bench level of player who is forced to be the star of this pathetic attack (except when Fati is healthy, and even then Fati is more about efficiency)

I don't mind having him, as long we continue to add better names to our attack
