Yeah, he is a very weird footballer.

Needs to get his act together and fast. The amount of resources we give to him in games, creative freedom and allowances to have only 3 open play goals in 15 starts is unacceptable. Takes every penalty, every free kick, every corner. Loses the ball at least 20 times a game. Barely presses or defends at all. And he isn't even really a source of goals at all. Even Braithwaite could score more if you gave him that level of freedom on the pitch.
He may like to think the 9 is his position but it's clear he has no idea how to play it. Off ball movement is awful, no aerial threat, finishing subpar and hold up play isn't great either as he gets pushed off the ball easily despite his physique. So no point playing him there, you may as well leave him on the bench.
The role in which he is a positive factor for the team is left winger/second striker where his major strength (creation, key passes, flickons etc) can be utilised better. He does create a lot of opportunities for others and if we had a top striker he could be much more useful. But currently playing him in a Messi style role where he can hoover up all the offensive resources just doesn't work as he is not that player and team plays better when he is actually getting other players into the game.
Have Fati play higher and with more freedom to push up and Depay sit deep to create chances for him. Fati clearly proven to be an at least decent finisher so he could take advantage of this strength of Memphis.

No chance for this guy. Better get rid of him beside Luuk de Jong in January. Get sick seeing his tattooed muscle on the pitch. Such an useless player Barca (Cowman) brought in.
