What a perfect deal, Depay could look really good for accepting a lower wage, but then be even less of a "free" deal later, needing to be paid to leave.
Here we are, one year later, he has played pretty terribly, is now the last option for attack, and holds up a spot and a decent salary - a problem.

They have done a great job as his spin doctors.No wonder people are confused why our wage bill is so high even without Griez Messi and Coutinho. This guy has been deferring hundreds of millions of wages and the media have claimed they are pay cuts every time, and lauded his sensational negotiating.
I wonder what other contractual revelations will come out? It seems the true details of players contracts only come out when we need them to leave.

Lol, a problem was your boy Mavericky who refused to leave for years, not Memphis who never said he won't leave.
Memhis accepted lower salary to join us in first place and then also renegotiated deferral so we could register him. He did us a favor not only once but twice.
He was also our best scorer last season playing mostly alongside Barca B kids so yeah, he was really terrible.
