I love how the Americans have managed to implement a kind of socialism in the one place that shouldn't ever have it.

You don't think football should have some socialist elements? Isn't collective TV revenue socialist? Or are you opposed to that idea? I only ask because it's generally one of those things that English football fans criticize Spanish football for.

I find it funny that America's best player(Donovan) has gone back to Everton on loan again. Surely that must tell you how dire the MLS is.................

He's a decent player though.

Troll fail. Everyone knows MLS is a second rate league, when Landon Donovan is a dominant player says it all really.

He should have moved to Europe full time years ago, but he's a pansy.

I just found this on wikipedia: "MLS in the United States, for the 2011 season, began implementing fines and suspensions for simulation in football through its Disciplinary Committee, which has the right to review plays after the match.", I had no idea... Kudos, MSL.

Impact making a few interesting signings...a 21 year old Brazilian midfielder from the Swiss second division named Felipe Campanholi Martins, not expecting a world beater but good passers can stand out in the technically starved MLS, Quebecois winger Patrice Bernier who has had a decent career in Scandinavia and will allow the team to have a token local player.

Need to make low risk, high reward signings like this to compliment the eventual DP signings. There's got to be some past it French and Italian players who would feel comfortable in Montreal.

True. Always thought Donovan couldn't handle himself in Europe. Still I hear that he could go to Club America in Mexico, but that's all media chatter.

Season starting up in a few weeks. Even though it isn't great footy like from other parts of the world, looking forward to some okay league play.

Donovan in Mexico? Didn't he once piss on the field at the Azteca?

Would be interesting, that's for sure. Too bad it's probably BS because I can't see a Mexican team paying him as much as MLS (considering he's far more marketable in the US than the rest of the world combined), because that would be interesting. Plus the Mexican league is still better.

Looking forward to the MLS season though. The quality should continue to improve a bit.
