Klopp played him hogging the sideline= he looked finished.
Klopp played him closer to the penalty area and the goal= he looks one of the best players in the world while playing against one of the best teams in the world.

Someone should take notice

In all honesty, he should have had 2 goals today, with City's defense being shambles.
That said, he was decisive.

He is a counter-attack direct striker who loves playing in large spaces (it has always been the same, when he played in Italy too). Guardiola made the mistake to ask Cancelo to mark him, as a last-defender of a high-line. Cancelo is an offensive-style of player, and is not so good at defending in 1 vs 1. If it was Ruben diaz or Nathan ake, the goal wouldn't be scored or happened in that laughable way.

Was he NOT playing close to the sideline in 2017/8 when he scored 45 goals??

Cm'oon, that's cheap excuse.

He took a 2 month vacation paid around 350K per week, and now he decided to come back to life

He was a tad towards the touchline initially that season but we played a totally different style back then. Much more dynamic and counter attacking than we play today. Also, Salah was faster than he is today and we were literally the most entertaining team to watch in Europe.

Everything about that has changed starting from style of play to players around him. Totally different scenario now. Also, we have to accomodate the Uruguayan Andy Carroll now since we have splashed shitloads of cash on him.

But yeah, Salah has been absolutely pony since the AFCON.

Birdy, back then Salah was much more of an unknown quantity and took teams by surprise with his quality and style of playing.

Now everybody knows what he's about so that unpredictability factor is also totally gone. This is not the reason for his shite form this year though.

Salah always start near the sideline, and then attack the middle. That was his style long before joining Liverpool. And continued during his time in Liverpool.
Hogging the sideline is the keyword, it only happened this season as Liverpool tried to accommodate different players

Which players? It's not true at all, and it's a nice try to whitewash his terrible performances for 2 months

You could say Nunez can't assist or drop deep like Firmino,
but that's not an excuse either.

First of all Firmino might have started more games than Nunez
Then, the instructions from Klopp didn't change at all while he was still playing 4-3-3 (that is until the last 4 games)
Same as last season with Mane/Jota up top when Salah had a great 1st half of season

But that was the time when he needed a new fat contract, now he has that
