Nelson Semedo

Yeah, anything that isn't good is on coach not the players
Semedo is very limited offensively , he plays with his head down a lot of time which gives him limited vision and ability to make decisions, hence he will over dribble or make bad crosses/passes.
That is on him as a player, and he should improve it, he has been back up right back for a reason. we can't afford to have a starting fullback who has very limited offensive impact, he has the talent but he need to learn to use it.

Didnt some people say Valverde developed Rakitic and Busquets?

Nope he isnt limited offensively, on the contrary he provides more threat. And covers more defensive areas. Only thing stopping him is having more consistent minutes. The reason he is playing is because Roberto gets banned. You will see him on the bench for most part if it wasnt for the red.

And his performances have been the same all the time. He has never been brilliant, sometimes good backup, sometimes bad.

My point was how much he has improved yesterday, this is what will happen to Semedo in the future, or would already have happened if he was given any time.

He improved yesterday? Rofl no he did not, he played as he always has, he had a few good runs, nice assist, but lost ball randomly several times and put us in danger of counter attack. He has actually also played less this season.
Semedo has played in 34 games this season and he was also injured for more than a month. That is more or less the same amount Digne got in 2 years lol

Digne was useless when he came here and all he could do was defend, there was no contribution in attack or buildup, but yesterday he was doing really good in attack and buildup against in form Villareal. How is that not improvement?

He needs a regular, consistent run of games to settle. Valverde picks him for two games and then benches him for 4.

Fuck Valverde

This!
Valverde gives out too much Arsene Wenger vibes. Start a player for 2 games, bench him again and expect to see improvement. I dare say, if Semedo was in RM, he'd be a beast of a player by now.
BTW, anyone think Adama Traore could play as an RB? :pep:

Good point. It always takes some time for players to adapt Barca style. Rakitic was the same.

I expect big improvements from Semedo, Coutinho and Dembele next season.

He was useless when he came here? Wtf, he had pretty decent start to his career here. Most people were surprised how decent he was, considering his backround. Compared to Alba, he has always been worse in attack and still is, 1 game does not show improvement, you can say someone has improved if it happens over longer period of time and with some regularity.
Also i still dont get your point. Semedo has had twice as much gametime over this season, if he hasnt been able to improve on that, does that mean that he just cannot or Digne should get more gametime or what?

Yes, like Ceballos or Theo Hernandez.

Rofl, again with the rose tinted glasses on the great ZZ. Only a tactical mastermind like him could be 18 points adrift in LL while fully integrating and honing the skills of guys like Ceballos, Vallejo and Theo. Truly something to envy. :worthy:

His start was decent for someone who wants a defending type of LB, he was never good in attack or buildup, literally never, but did the job in defence.
I'm not talking about 1 game, it just shows a player gets better with time and Digne is a good example.
Semedo twice as much this season lol, again, DIGNE HAS BEEN HERE LONGER THAN 1 SEASON, do you really think extra 600 minutes on pitch is the same as staying with team, training with them every day for a year?

Maybe when he coaches a team talent filled as Barcelona.
Remind me again what was Valverde's reputation prior to coaching Barcelona?... Let me summarize, " He played for Fc Barcelona for 2 years, scoring 8 goals". That is all there is to write home about. His duration at Bilbao, Valencia,Villareal,Olympiacos were all failures...
