Yes. I remember it well from CRO TV comentators talking how Barcelona pitch is the biggest in the world and that Highbury is extremly narrow and they had all that theories how both of the teams exploit that. It was in early 90's so no google for crowd. We took it for granted. Why would they lie...
When I saw Nou Camp in real it was WOOOOOOOOOOW efect because of the whole "full package"... that was ie. the case of Emirates stadium and Chelsea stadium. Chelsea stadium is "squeezed" and Emirates has that all open ground around it and sidewalks and all that "fansy" shit and it looks immense when you aproach it.
Persepctive is shitty thing, meters are determined.
Yes, that's probably the same story which I remember from 90s and early 00s.
Highbury had a size 100x67 meters.
Also, numbers vary based on different internet sources.
Anyway, here is a list on EPL stadiums:
Barca's is 114-115x74 yards:
http://sportslens.com/premier-league-pitch-sizes/3683/
Old Highbury was only 109x73
Anfield is 110x75
Stamford Bridge is 110x75
White Heart lane is 110x73
West Ham's is only 110x72
So, a part of this myth is true.
It seems that English stadiums are quite small (except Old Trafford, City's stadium and new Arsenal's stadium).
So, old Highbury (old Arsenal's stadium) and traditional English stadiums are smaller than Nou Camp.
But stadiums from other teams like Milan, Juve, Real, Bayern (105x68 meters or 114-115x74 yards).
That means that Arsenal (in the past) and other English teams (except Man utd and City) were lost at Camp Nou (and other big stadiums).
But when Juve, Real or Bayern come to Camp Nou, they shouldn't have any problems since their stadiums are of the same size.
