Neymar Jr. - v5

Roberto does run more, he runs the most distance for us and plays nearly every game, Suarez is always pressuring his opponents (last game is a good example), Umtiti with Pique play the role that runs less but still play very active.

Roberto plays RB most of the time and is very hard working but he doesn't have the pace or bursts that Neymar does. It is not all about distance covered.

Suarez also very hardworking, doesn't do as much Ney and often looks knackered these days anyway because of it.

Agree Pique and Umtitu don't run as much due to position.

Neymars work rate is top notch and he isn't the partying new Ronaldinho at all.

A resounding LOL is what you will get from me.......not worth my time at all.
On a second not to rub it in, here you go https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison
Don't lose hope though. .. You can still come up with the usual "Stats don't mean shit " argument.

A good one.
So, when some stats suit you, then stats are good.
When stats don't suit you, then football is more than stats.

Some random stats for you:
1. Why our team played better this season without Neymar in the team?
2. What about a number of goals he scored this season? (He is a Lw and he is not supposed to score). How on Earth then he scored 39 and 31 goals in 2nd and 3rd season?
Or what, he played as a Cf back then?
Or, I know, we had a different coach back then?
Or, we had different midfielders 1 and 2 years ago?
3. Since Neymar came, we have the worst Cl period since 90's. Only one semifinal or higher in 4 years and two years in a row without semis.

Imagine a tragedy if we sell Neymar, we would lose all these valuable Cl quaterfinals, lel.

In the last 18 months, a guy played 2 months of good football.
He was a disaster in the 2nd half of the last season. A non factor in a Cl, and a ghost in La liga where Messi and Suarez saved our asses.

This season, he was a disaster all the time, except in 5 minutes of magic against Psg and in a few matches after that (remember BallonDOr posts again, ouch).
But he soon returned to a good old poor to average Neymar.

If he were a 30m player, people would still be pissed at him.
But he is among top3 or top5 most expensive players in the world. And yet again, in 4 years here, we got 0+6+6+2 months of good form.

Yet we invested and paid 250-300 millions for him.
A deal of the century...

We could have bought Verratti and Griezmann/Dybala together with all the money spent on Neymar, his dad, their dog, taxes, penalties, wages, raised wages.

What BBZ is saying isn't exactly untrue. Even those who defend him here are usually shitting all over him in chat, week after week, when he's actively performing badly, which has been more often than not. He's very, very prone to going extensive amounts of time in poor form, and I'd honestly rather have a player half as talented who could maintain that level for the larger part of a season, than a player as talented as Neymar who will only rarely put that talent on full display.

Sandro has more goals than him. Sandro.

This sums up the quality of arguments of the whole thread. Its like saying mascherano is a better penalty taker than messi because penalty accuracy.

Any won with a rat inside his head will tell you neymar is 100 times better than sandro from whatever perspective you wanna see.

Neymar tries to help the team, in his own way, can't score much but makes up by creating chances and dribbling 4 players at once like cutting cake. If goals is all you are obsessed with one will always rate cr7 ahead of messi.

Clearly Neymar isn't 100 times better at scoring goals than Sandro. Or Griezmann. Or Aspas. Or even Gerard Romero. But maybe, contrary to his previous seasons and the main hype behind signing him, he wasn't signed to help the team with goals. Maybe he's just here to provide assists. Too bad he's only got 10 of them. That's less than Suarez, a notoriously awful passer of the ball who is only second to Messi on the goalscoring charts.

His main contribution being able to dribble multiple players at once amounts to nothing more often than not and that plays a role in us losing games even when he's playing well, because at this point he doesn't score much and he doesn't assist much, either. How much use is he if he beats two men and then shits the bed when the time comes for the shot? This style of play is exactly why nobody rational ever saw any future in Adama.

I'm not even obsessed with goals themselves, I just like to win. When's the last time we won a big game because of Neymar? I wouldn't say CR is better than Messi but I would definitely say he's miles ahead of Neymar and always will be.

PSG???? lmao you must be trolling. Just lol @ people blaming this season on Neymar. If we had a proper midfield and a tactically sound coach then you would see the real Neymar. Imagine Neymar playing in this current Madrid team, he would absolutely devastate most teams he would play against.

We didn't beat PSG because of Neymar. That was an all around dominate performance from top to bottom against a team that crumbled in on itself the moment they stepped foot in the Camp Nou.

And I at no point blamed the season on Neymar. You could put pretty much any of our starting XI in Madrid and they'd devastate, that's not much of an argument.

Neymar put in an all time performance to beat PSG about as any one player can do to turn a game in dying minutes. No player can win in their own but if not for Neymar in that final minutes Barca are out.

They never 'crumbled the moment they set foot in camp nou' they were cruising through with minutes to go until Neymar above all change the tie.

Neymar has created more chances than any player in the team this year not even including the penalties he has won. Not surprised Suarez has more assists he almost exclusively seems to look for Messi in and around the box.

Neymar is hundred times better than sandro as an overall player. And thats what matters.

Neymar was brought in to have a siginificant amount of influence on attack and he does that all the time by beating players and creating chances.

Which big game did we win recently because of him? You must be joking or else you have alzheimers. PSG at camp nou hapenned just less than 2 months ago

We DID beat PSG because of, and honestly speaking only because of neymar. All of our midfield + attack had a very okayish game. No one was outstanding except neymar who carried the team from the dead.

Okay, fine. All the credit for PSG goes to him. Even still, that was early March, we're in May. Is there anything else? We've suffered our fair share of losses both before and after with Neymar being a standout under performer. The PSG victory also ended up meaning fuck all because we just got manhandled in an almost identical manner in the very next round only this time we didn't turn the return leg into a fabled comeback.

Like there's really no getting around how Neymar is more often poor for us than he is good. Someone with Neymar's name in his username will probably not see that, though.

Both MD and Sport say that Neymar wants Unzue as next coach.

I hope we appoint someone else and that makes Neymar mad.

I watched Dybala yesterday carefully...I must say, I find him to be a greater potential than Neymar Jr....maybe even at this moment he's the better player. Well he practically kicked us from the CL.

Very fluent, great vision and passing abilities, simple and deadly.

Lol, please make a case for him: How can you say that Dybala has a higher level?

In other news, he is apparently asked to make his case in person in the transfercase, it was decided today in (Madrid) court.
