Neymar Jr. - v5

Tiki taka works with prime Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets.

Tiki taka does NOT work with Andre Gomes, Rakitic and 50 year old Busquets.

Madrid, the best team in the world, does'nt play tiki taka. They reach the opponents box as fast as possible.

Pedro was lucky to be in the same place when Spain's golden generation peaked, together with GOAT Messi was in his physical prime and accelerating like a ferrari. Their playing style matched tiki taka.

Now to say the team's success was due to the system, rather than the players composing the system, is so idiotic and 100% what's wrong with our team.

It's like saying the triangle was what made Michael Jordan successful, and trying to emulate the triangle offense in 2017.

If we take out Neymar, and make Pedro play with a midfield of Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez and what nots, we lose 5 to 10 more points and aren't even in contention.

Don't make claims you can't back up. Makes you look foolish considering you're already ignoring conversations that don't go your way.

I understand BBZ's persistence is frustrating but why not debate him with proper arguments or ignore him ?

Better than to shit on stats / make cringy & unverifiable claims about "the best lw in the world" / justifying the ball-hog with the disappearance of Xaviesta.

Neymar's terrible finishing is on him, I also think there is a lot to say on Lucho about his underwhelming overall gameplay, of course one can't argue that while simultaneously claiming neymar is doing excellent, sucks eh.

Suarez is having quite the difficult season and claiming he's the best 9 in the world helps nothing with that and the same goes for Neymar. Truth is it's way too close to call this year.

Both seem here to stay for years on enormous salaries so we better hope they fucking perform, this board is too incompetent to properly replace either of them anyway.

Let's see if the next coach also thinks it's brilliant to give neymar the most possession time every single match with this lame gameplan.

We talked earlier today how CR7 turned from an entertaining but not efficient footballer into a somewhat boring but extremely efficient player.
His team is currently on a verge of winning a 3rd CL in 4 years.

If they had "an entertaining" CR7 from the past with a poor end product, they would have never won all these trophies.

Dribbles and eye pleasing moves are nice, but an end product and efficiency are bringing trophies in the end.

I am not saying that we should have 11 boring robots who will never dribble and make tricks.
But tricks alone with a poor or average end product in attack won't get us too far either.

Tricks bring Youtube followers.
End product brings CL titles.

CR7 had far more game to him than just dribbling when he was younger though.

Comparisons between Neymar and CR7 have long persisted, but I just don't get it. CR7 is just a far better player than Neymar.

Doesn't mean Neymar isn't world class, but he's not in CR7's league. Nor will he reach the heights that CR7 has.

A lot of people here believed or probably still believe that CR7 is just a glorified poacher(penaldo, tap in king..) who is lacking in the purer areas of soccer that Neymar, possesses.

agree for the most part, i do think neymar has greater talent but he definitively lacks the 2 traits for sustained success that CR7 has in abundance: ruthlessness and versatility.

Prime Ronaldo was better than Neymar that's not even debatable to be honest. But as of 2-05-2017 i find Neymar far Superior and if we build a team around his talents like Manchester did with Ronaldo we could make a solid post-Messi era led by the brazilian.

but it's not a question about abilities. neymar at this best can hang with any version of cristiano, but does he have the sheer drive to sustain high level performance against adversity (physical decline, detractors etc) and against time? i don't see it personally.

Neymar is still a better dribbler though that cannot be denied. Better than Ronaldo ever was. Ronaldo isn't even a natural dribbler. These type of players can't beat anyone when they lose their physical prowess. Messi, Neymar will be faking out opponents till they hang their boots.

Well in that sense Neymar is just a glorified dribbler seeing as 90% of the time his dribbling lead to absolute nothing.

CR7 is is far better than Neymar positionally, awareness, aerially and multiple times more clinical. If you're looking at it from an efficiency perspective then CR7 is magnitudes more efficient for his team than Neymar is for Barca.

Like I said, Neymar is world class, but nowhere near CR7. I think Neymar can reach the heights of other great modern wingers like that of Robben or Ribery did at their peaks. Maybe even go slightly above that.

But I refuse to believe the idea that Neymar is a once in a lifetime player and can be compared to one of the best players in history.

I don't think he has a mentality and dedication to be the great player. To me he looks more like a playful kid than a professional.
That's the reason he will travel around during the season instead of to work on himself. Take a look at M.Phelps for example...weekends, holidays, birthdays....no rest, training every day. That's a winning and competitive mentality that can only come through raw passion.
Find your weakness and work on it until blood comes out.

This is true for M.Jordan and that fuck face from Real and many other great athletes.

Imo, that explains his consistency issues.

I'm scared of the future of this team after Messi starts to truly decline. I don't think Neymar can carry the torch. He parties like Ronnie but is nowhere near as skilled as him.
