Neymar Jr. - v5

We talked earlier today how CR7 turned from an entertaining but not efficient footballer into a somewhat boring but extremely efficient player.
His team is currently on a verge of winning a 3rd CL in 4 years.

If they had "an entertaining" CR7 from the past with a poor end product, they would have never won all these trophies.

Dribbles and eye pleasing moves are nice, but an end product and efficiency are bringing trophies in the end.

I am not saying that we should have 11 boring robots who will never dribble and make tricks.
But tricks alone with a poor or average end product in attack won't get us too far either.

Tricks bring Youtube followers.
End product brings CL titles.

Thats funny because Neymar already has had more CL success than Ronaldo at same age. Both have 1 trophey but Neymar was top scorer with more goals

I bet you will dismiss Neymar's efficiency scoring 10 goals in our UCL title tho, but when its RonRon it counts

I'm scared of the future of this team after Messi starts to truly decline. I don't think Neymar can carry the torch. He parties like Ronnie but is nowhere near as skilled as him.

Neymar is nowhere close to party like Ronaldinho. He is below CR, Messi and plenty of others in regards to mental and body rest during his free days, but Ronaldinho was another level in terms of partying.

Doesn't party anything like as much as Ronaldinho.

Neymar is probably the fittest and most athletic player in the team. If there is one person don't have to worry that it is taking care of themselves of of the pitch it is him.

He doesn't party, most of his snaps are him sitting at a table with his entourage playing board games on an iPad or meme'ing in Portugese

Your reply has absolutely nothing with my post.
Anyway, how things stand, it seems more likely that Neymar and his future clubs will stay on 1 Cl title.

Neyney scored 10 goals in one cl campaign and more or less nothing in other 3 campaignes (except 5 minutes against Psg which were ruined by a Ko against Juve later).
Cr7 delivers in every single year, do you see a difference?
Cr7 has 5 Cl finals with 2 different clubs.
He had 2 cl finals in Ney's age, even though he didn't have cheating codes (aka Messi) in his team.

This topic will be the same in 2025.
Some posters: Ney sucks
Some other posters: but he was good in a treble season in 2015

We kicked Ronaldinho who was a way better player and had 3 world class seasons in a row here.
After 2 bad years, we gave up on him.

Neymar had one good season in 4 years here.
Where did he earn all the credit to keep him here?

If he'll play the same in the next season, I am quite sure that his 5th season will be his last one here.
Even Barto is not that dumb.

If he won't improve or deliver more, that's it.
Especially if Rm will continue to bang Cl trophies.

Everything here is if you criticise Suarez or Rakitić or even Messi it is OK, because they played bad, if you make some critics after Neymar then "he is not here to score, he contributes, he dribbles, he played great1-2 years ago, he carried us against PSG, he is future, he is THE best etc etc". Why can't we simply say, THIS SEASON he did not played GOOD ENOUGH for what he is payed for and for what we EXPECT from him. Simple as that. He CAN an he MUST play BETTER.

I am realy sick and tired of "rest of the team sucks, our midfiled is not good enough" in defense of Neymar who "works and contributes" but Suarez is "sell, misses, not good, bad, etc." or "Messi walks, Messi is uninterested" etc. as if they don't have that same midfield and that same team behind them. And they BOTH have better stats this season behind them.

I won't write any more about Neymar becuase whatever people say they are either haters or simply "Croatian who hate him because he scored a goal on WC"... dumb...

He's not going anywhere. Blowing this way out of proportion.

I am one to agree with the fact he is inconsistent with his form, and that clashes with the high expectations everyone has of him. He'll be insane for several games, talk of him being the best in the world starts to happen, and then blam it drops. You get a real good high and then because he can't seem to sustain that level disappointment ensues. There's a lot of room for improvement. A lot of maturing as a footballer if he wants carry the torch. But right now it's Messi doing that not him. His contribution as of now is more than we could of dreamed of. Most teams would be content with just him, we have him and Messi supporting each other.

He is still a top top player and an irreplaceable, rare talent. He's been dissapointing in front of goal but his contributions this season still make him a top player. A lot of games this season have been won because of something he did or instigated, even though he may not go down in the stats books every game. Breaking up MSN would be a huge mistake. Selling the youngest, second most talented would be the worse way to do it. Let time take care of that.

Also I would argue that this Up and Down rollercoaster is not just something to do with Neymar, but something that has embodied our team for a long time now. A lot of inconsistenty both collectively and individually. We just pick on Neymar more because he is our future, and he is being asked to uphold the standard set by a freak of nature once in a lifetime player.

I would not sell Neymar. As Trump might say, "Bad deal. Not good."

Roberto, Pique, Umtiti, Suarez were way more consistenly fit throughout this season, only in 2017 Neymar picked it up and started looking fit.

Do they play as many games and cover as much ground as Neymar? Same amount of sprints during game etc?

Don't think they do. Neymar is as fit as anyone in squad. Probably fittest based on watching the games.

I watched Dybala yesterday carefully...I must say, I find him to be a greater potential than Neymar Jr....maybe even at this moment he's the better player. Well he practically kicked us from the CL.

Very fluent, great vision and passing abilities, simple and deadly.

Roberto does run more, he runs the most distance for us and plays nearly every game, Suarez is always pressuring his opponents (last game is a good example), Umtiti with Pique play the role that runs less but still play very active.

Especially both games against Juve when he was non-existent.

A resounding LOL is what you will get from me.......not worth my time at all.
On a second not to rub it in, here you go https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison
Don't lose hope though. .. You can still come up with the usual "Stats don't mean shit " argument.

Problem however is.......he's a CAM, Second-Striker, Striker.

That's the reason he plays in the middle in Juventus with the ability to roam around and did so the same while Messi was on the right wing for Argentina.

He's not a LW or even a full-fledged RW.

We can have Dybala here, but though for sure in a 3-4-3 diamond or 4-2-3-1, but that would mean Messi has to play as a RW, and his presence doesn't have anything to do with Neymar or Suarez.
