Some thoughts on the Neymar-to-PSG saga:
1. The sports papers are fake news!
2. Let us just do some arithmetic here. 222M + massive wages for Neymar + private jet + massive bonus. This is an impossible sum for a single player.
3. Neymar is not stupid. He knows that PSG can never provide him with the prestige and publicity that Barca and La Liga can.
If we apply any sort of rational analysis to this story, it must simply be fake news.

100% agree with this. It's the same story every summer, gets people talking whilst there's no competitive football on. 90% confirmed then 80% confirmed it's all pure rumours. He wouldn't be on tour in the US now if he was leaving. I don't think any player is bigger than the club but no chance he leaves now.

I agree. To and extent though. Most stuff you see at this stage is fake, I think we all agree on that. But I don't doubt that there is actually something behind all this, and that Neymar is indeed considering PSG right now and maybe even negotiating with them. After all this is going for a good week now and you'd expect him to come forth and explain it's all bullshit if there was nothing behind it. Wether he did or did not sign with them, or just fishing for a new contract, is all just speculation by the media now.

Yes, Qatar has lots of money, but they are not blowing half a billion on a football player. Moreover, even Qatar needs to tighten their belts a bit right now, as oil/gas prices are for the time being, low, they are under KSA-led embargo and their pipeline to Europe is not happening.
