While coutinho didnt furfill fans expectations, he is worth 100m on todays football market, he isnt destroyed by injuries like ney is, was great for lpool and has huge potential to continue be great for another team, saying how barca can not sell him for 80m or more is just admitting being okay with this incompetent board

Outlay equates to the same - money in equals money out in accounting. Coutinho's decreased current value now changes nothing on balance

My first post you quoted was based on the fact no one wants Coutinho, he has no place in our team and he's lost value. Why even mention Neymar's value has decreased if you're just talking about straight numbers/accounting? lol Depreciation in players value is 100% relevant to the conversation we're having.

My take on it is roughly:

Neymar = 180m

Coutinho = 80m

So Coutinho + 100m makes sense based on the things I originally mentioned about him. My only issue is his injuries.

you are saying how coutinho's price dropped but neymar costing around 200m is okay, just 22 m less then what barca got for him when he was younger, guy missed copa and all important matches for Brasil and PSG

How is that a good deal? Only in neymar fans heads probably

Nope, I value Coutinho lower than you, as does Transfermarkt and most people. We massively overpaid for him. He has no place at Barca, i'd rather have Neymar than have another season with Coutinho at LW.

It's the board's fault we can't sell him for 100m? :lol: Okay......

No one wanting Coutinho changes little, hence pointing out it is irrelevant in terms of finances. Accounting is not done on valuations but hard figures. Money has been received and spent, should Neymar return for the rumoured numbers then it amounts to essentially balancing out those figures making it a poor financial deal for Barcelona when the leverage should be on our side

Good point. Another 100 million spent. This is insane. We can't afford this.

The people saying Coutinho is only worth 60m are off their rocker. Yes he may only have played like a 60m player for us but football doesn't work like that. No player loses more than half his value after 18 months based purely on his footballing quality.

There is always some manager with an ego big enough to think they can get the best out of him in their team/system. This is how the transfer market works and why players like Lukaku are even being sold for profit.

No one wants him, only Bayern would take him on loan.

Why is he worth 100 million? Who is paying that for him? Spurs or Arsenal?

If no one would pay 100 million for Coutinho then he is not worth 100 million. Simple.

Why did Manchester United not go hard for him when they are about to lose Pogba sooner or later? Not even from their low standards they show interest.

Will never recoup 3 digit millions for Coutinho.

Coutinho was never a 140 million player in the first place. The 2 biggest and most hyped talents in De Ligt and De Jong went for around 75 million, at which point was Coutinho twice that value, ever?

I will quietly hope this will never go through...

If Neymar returns, after the way he left, in a team that has the least use for a winger, costing us a ridiculous amount of money we don't have...it will be just shockingly bad, confirming once and for all that the board has no intentions of rebuilding us into a dominant & complete football team, but rather a team that just sells to new markets and gets the $$, with a coach that has as main job to provide minutes for the top selling shirts and so called "legends", that in the meantime seems to have forgotten off ball movement or in some cases to run.

After Messi retires, we will be stuck in mud for a long time.

Can't believe some people actually want this snake here..
