Paris are just in a horrible situation. Hopefully our board doesnt make it easy for them.

Horrible on what ? Financially. It's more than ok. The club is ok for the FFP.

In termes of players, it's ok, not the best team in Europe, lack of balance maybe (strong attack and defense, average middlefield and goalkeeper.)

Financially Barca is in much more trouble than Paris. See what happened with the Griezmann transfer. Barto spent like a gold-digger the 2 last years. Salaries are absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah it's like their fans can't even accept that their club his paying 40m/year to a guy who is miserable and desperate to leave the club and at the same time infuriating the fanbase.

PSG has two options:

1) Stubbornly keep and basically burn millions in the process (They don't need him for anything other than winning the CL).

2) Sell him quickly and use the remaining time left in the transfer window to sign some reinforcements and build a unified team.

This guy isn't worth all the stress and hassle. TBH I would be open to swapping Raki and Coutinho for Neymar, but adding in 100 million just feels excessive. We don't need to do PSG nor Neymar any favours in their divorce. Just leave the two of them together

You can only dream of our revenues. In the not too distant future PSG will no longer be used as an Arab's plaything and dissolve back into footballing anonymity.

PSG will be stronger without Neymar as they play the whole time with him as the main man and in the most important knockout stage matches he gets injured so suddenly they need to improvise. Now they can already learn to play without him at the beginning

Horrible in terms of the fact that you guys are stubborn in selling a player who clearly wants to leave. Why doesnt PSG just accept Barca's deal and use that money to buy players as soon as possible before the window closes for all clubs? Neymar will leave. That is a fact. I'm not sure where but he will leave and PSG should close the deal quickly so that they have the time to buy players using the Neymar money.

How can you know that Barca is financially in trouble? Have you seen their finances? We spent the money that came from numerous sales unlike PSG who got the money from god knows where from Qatar.

im hopeful PSG are left with no choice but to sell to us, i feel like thats our only chance right now. it seems Zidane is pissed off with Perez not buying Pogba so im hoping they go all in for him, leaving us clear to sign Neyney

Lets hope he goes to Madrid, his personality will fit much better there.

Looks like he'll be staying at PSG then. Real Madrid simply cannot afford him either..... especially after they just spent something like 300m euros already this summer. They would need to sell at least 3 players and still find a lot money from other means. And I doubt PSG want a Bale who is way past his prime and James who simply hasn't played well in like 4 years.

We're the only team who could possibly offer PSG a good deal. I hope it backfires on them.

But knowing our board we're going to bend over and pay what PSG want. This is their way of trying to make up for us losing to Liverpool the way we did.

As crazy as it sounds, i believe that PSG and their owners can afford rejecting barca offers until they reach offer that suits them, even if that means unhappy neymar staying there and spending season not playing, they arent desperate by any means

Only one who is desperate is those cucks in charge of fc barcelona, and PSG will milk them properly

A follow up to post 4954;

I don't think for a second that RM are interested in Neymar. As I see it, from RM's perspective it is only about raising the transfer fee for Barça and to make life more complicated for us. A typical tactic for both giants whenever supposedly chasing the same player. It serves PSG also to somehow show the world that there are more options than just the Barça option if offloading him.

At the same time the local pamphlets (newspapers and radio stations) will sell us the idea of us winning the "battle for Neymar" for a second time and that we prevented RM from singing a top 3 player etc. nonsense.

Forgetting that it makes zero sense for RM to go for Neymar when they are stacked on his favorite position and while they will be chasing Mbappé from next summer on.

I could of course be wrong. It happens occasionally, lol.

Leo, since you live in Barca, I guess.
You were right about this part where all papers were writing about him for 3 Months.
I have mentioned the same lately, it was toooo suspicious, we need to follow those patterns in the future.

I would ask you something else since you have more knowledge about Spanish media games.
Whom do you believe in this moment?
To MD or to other sources?

Or when even MD says:
1. we offered only players
2. we offered Cou+Raki+money
3. offers regarding Semedo
4. then the others writing that losing Rakitic is a mistake
5. others writing that Semedo is not for sale

I personally wouldn't be surprised that we are willing to do any option:
1. Cou+money
2. Cou+Raki+money
3. Cou+Semedo+money
4. I wouldn't be surprised at even Cou+Raki+Semedo (even those multi-swaps are highly unlikely).

Also, I wouldn't be surprised that the article regarding Rakitic (how he won't leave) is only a part of the game.
Where we want to show how Raki can't leave so that Psg accepts it (Cou+Raki).
The same about Semedo, we act as if he can't go, yet Barto would ship him right away if Psg accepts since Roberto is a starting RB for 3-4 seasons either way...
As if: Psg, we can't give you Raki, he is indispensable..
Psg: no, that is our final offer, Cou+Raki or the deal is dead...
Barca: ok, fine... but we are giving you a favor...

So, a question:
1. whom do you believe in this moment?
2. and for the future, who to believe among MD and other sport papers regarding future dramas, transfers, elections and everything? Thanks

Live abroad nowadays but you don't need to live in BCN, Catalunya or Spain to notice what I wrote. It just requires knowledge of Spanish and Catalan and to be aware of some of the knowledgeable sources that mostly know what they are talking about. Even a person not speaking a word of either could just take a look at some of the front pages of the 3 papers that I mentioned in the past 3 months to get the gist of what is going on, aside from social media nowadays where language is not important as there will always be someone who can translate the news to English or another language.

MD (in particular) are playing it safe and won't report anything with certainty if the deal is not done. Hence their often more cautious tone than Sport. In case the deal collapses Bartomeu and the board will have a very long nose.

Since most football fans don't give a crap about a sporting project (it is boring) and prefer names (for some strange reason most or at least many football fans have always believed that many star names in the same team all at once is a guarantee of success - you have in my eyes, clowns (nothing personal) or trolls, writing "guaranteed treble if we buy Neymar" and such nonsense, the likes of Bartomeu who is no football person, is desperate for star players. Especially after another fiasco in the CL.

It all depends on how desperate Bartomeu and the board will be as it is clear that PSG would want to part ways with Neymar if they get a somewhat favorable deal (for them). I don't think that Neymar has any future at PSG however stranger things have happened in football.

As long as Bartomeu's board is in power, MD is the most informed source as Bartomeu and the current board members have private relations with Santi Nolla and a few other journalists there (Grupo Godó). Just check the recent funeral of Carlos Pérez de Rozas (well-known sports journalists) that passed away a few days ago.

I’m not annoyed one bit by this transfer saga. Compared to other transfer we made in the past we don’t actually need the player. The outcome is not a big deal. He comes, that’s fine. He doesn’t come, that’s fine too.

No big deal. We have upper hand in negotiations
