He is great and talented player... but too unstabile, his Ego is enormous and his discipline can't be trusted.
Not to mention how much would rail us in debt even more (rather give double 4 Mbappe and switch to saving 4 years to regulate the debt)...
We have quality players, what we lack is The Game, more precisely the manager that knows how to use players on his desposal the best way. We all know that Klopp would do more with this same squad then The Unsackable One.

My feeling is the opposite. If they wanted him, they would never buy Griezman. Neymar asked Paris to leved in May. So between May and begining of July, Barca had all the time to gather the amount asked (between 222 M€ and 300 M€.)
Then after it was the panic buy mode. Injuries, first results of the season not good, the squad (including Messi.)
They didn't want him.

I think the board did want Neymar, but they just didn't have the funds to do it because of the Griezmann deal.
Neymar asked for a transfer around May, but Barca and Griezmann had already signed a pre-contract in March which meant Barca had to go through with signing him.

Griezmann or not but i think there was no way Barca would ever pay something like 250-300M to get Neymar back, so if that really was PSGs asking price it wasn't gonna happen anyway. Only way for this to work would've probably been including Coutinho for a very high fee but we know how that ended.

The lack of respect for Ligue 1 originates, as always, from the arrogant EPL fanboys who seem to think their league is something special because they have had 1 good year in Europe. The truth is Ligue 1 is only a small way behind Bundesliga and Serie A.
I am not French, but I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for a league where every member of the World Cup winning team started his career in, is seen as a 'farmers league'. No doubt all the teams from the 'non farmers leagues' will be scrapping it out for Ligue 1 players next July.
