Neymar Jr.

Injuries played an important part, I agree.

But... Neymar just went to play in the 5th best league in Europe and is now suffering from way less exposure. That is also what led to his drop. If people don't watch you play because when you play there are usually at least 2 games live from better leagues... you can't really be talked about in the same way as the biggest players from England and Spain.

I would personally watch Roma - Sampdoria, or Leverkusen - Dortmund than PSG - Saint Etiene.

PSG are not big enough draw to watch them dismantle dross every week.

Very unfair to class the French league as flat out 5th. In truth, there is very very small differences between the French, Italian and German leagues. All are dominated by one club. Lille or Lyon would give Dortmund and Roma a game. Would be 50/50.

No. your claim is laughable.

how is it laughable?

Serie A is not only a weak league with Juve dominating 8 years running, its also boring. Ligue 1 might be dominated by PSG but look at all the talent coming out of Ligue 1 in comparison. Bundesliga is ahead of both but not by much

Ibra had his most hype and exposure when he went to Ligue 1. That isn't really a problem. PSG stadium is sold out throughout the year.

People outside of France might not watch too many Ligue 1 games but neither do they watch La Liga games except for Messi and Ronaldo in the past decade. Which foreigner watches Atletico or Athletic Bilbao games?

Real Madrid average attendance already dropped by 5000 after Ronaldo left. 61000 in a 90000 stadium for 3 times CL winners is laughable. Man United would fill 150,000 even in their current state.

The journos are making a killing with Neymar saga.

Yesterday, Marcelo Bechler even suggested that PSG would loan Neymar to Flamengo.
And the best part is PSG would still pay his salary ! The point making this possible is that Neymar would be in Brazil, close to his institute and business and other shit like that.
And all that for PSG to have a chance to sign Reinier (worth 40 M) in the future.
The salary of Neymar alone could pay that transfer fee in 1 lump sum...
This alone shows how much integrity those journalist have.

There are credible sources saying Neymar did approach Flamengo . MD and Sport are the ones that make shit up every day.

Well, i won't discuss if Neymar approached Flamengo, even if it seems impossible to me before he is washed up. What is laughable is that article saying it is a realistic option for PSG to loan Neymar to Flamengo AND pay his salary. What would PSG win by doing so ? Losing your best player, not getting a fee to replace him and paying his salary which cripples the club budget ? Laughable ! And all that to get the chance to have first option on Reinier who is valued at 40 M€... If that is the case, why is PSG not simply loaning him to Barcelona or any other clubs willing to pay his full salary and investing that money to flat out buy Reinier ?

Well, Ligue 1 is behind imo as shown by the UEFA coefficient.

I think L1 could overcome some Bundesliga or Serie A if the clubs were not selling their players after 1 year of good football or promises. But as shown this summer, almost any potential good player has been bought again by PL clubs and some German or Italian clubs.
If L1 clubs could just hold on their players for a period of 2-5 years to have a real cycle, L1 could become 3rd league in the world. However, financial disparities mean it will never happen.

When Neymar is fit, PSG are the best team out of all 3 leagues.

Neymar and Mbappe are the best 2 players in all 3 leagues.

Biggest transfers sales out of all 3 leagues ? 1) Pepe 80m. 2) Ndombele 70m.

How is it clearly inferior to Bundesliga and Serie A?

1. PSG, even when Neymar is fit, is not better than Juve. They might beat Bayern, but in a two-legged tie it could go either way. I'd bet on Bayern. PSG minus Neymar was eliminated by one of the most lacklustre United sides in memory. This was a PSG with Mbappe, who is arguably already better than Neymar. Having Neymar would have helped, to be sure, but if PSG and the French league are as strong as you claim, well, surely they could have beat United?
2. Mbappe is great, but CR is still better than him and Neymar. He is still performing in the CL knockouts. So no, Mbappe and Ney are not the best in all three leagues. CR is.
3. Just because clubs overpay does not mean certain leagues are better. The Portuguese league does wonderfully in terms of business, but that is no indication or evidence that it is a strong league vis-a-vis Italy/France/Germany.
4. Many reasons, but I'll mention one: there are no serious CL contenders in France. Not even PSG--not yet. Both Italy and Germany are likelier to win the CL before France.

Fit neymar is second best player in the world.

The last 2 years PSG exited the CL without Neymar. PSG were far better than Madrid in Madrid with Neymar. His injury killed that tie. For me PSG without ney has the same effect as Barca without Messi.

I think it's absurd to even consider that today, cr7 is a better player than either mbappe or neymar.

The reason I mentioned ndombele and pepe is because if Italy and Germany had more strength in depth then surely there would be huge signings from their weaker teams, but in fact that is very rare. Even Saliba went for 30m this year from st etienne. Leao for 35m , on and on. It's known as the 'league of talents for a reason.

Anyway I'm going to agree to disagree as I personally don't care much about this debate.
