Says different structure. So I assume they will pay the amount of the clause, but that Porto will buy rights off us first so we receive less.

Interested to see how he performs there. He's grown alot as a player and could have been signed for a fragment of Olmo fee.

Would have been way more available if a lower peak.

As for Pepe le Pew. Is 60m on Nico better than 60m on Baena?

Xavi did not believe in him and let him go on the cheap

Pep believes in him and is willing to make his club pay 60m for him

What if we refuse to sell Porto the rights and collect the 24 mil instead?

Probably can't refuse.

I think Alemany was just doing whatever it takes at that stage to get sales out the door and didn't really secure our long term interests.

I think what's going to happen is we will here talk of how we get 24m or 40 percent, and then it will emerge that because of x,y,z we are actually getting much less.

We also can buy nico back for 30 mil and than sell him for 60 to city, so i think this is all not 100% sure now. We have to wait i think
I don't think buybacks work in that way exactly, it depends on the structure of it but in general a buyback is just a special release clause. It doesn't mean the player has to accept it.

Another casualty of Bartomeu’s calamitous reign, at least Laporta managed to get a nice profit for the bottom line

How good would he be in Flick’s Barça right now eh?

In Transfermarkt, his value is around 18m. No real club that makes its own money, has even considered to pay 40m for him, let alone 60, but City is desperate in the moment to even reach the CL in the end of the season and money has no value for them anyways. If he isn't good enough, he'll be loaned out and forgotten next season. No other club can risk something like this but a state sponsored one.
The ones thinking we could have earned 60m with Nico ourselves need a reality check.
And there is also the issue of him needing a lot of playtime to develop in the first place. Barca can't give every player with a good potential enough playing time, there are too many of them with too little slots.

I doubt they are trying to screw us tbh. If there is a clause viable, they will sure use it. But the difference in amount isn't really that big.

Porto has strong relationship with Mendes, whom we kinda push our La Masia top prospects to him, Porto is a potential good partner for the future Nico from La Masia.

I don't expect favours, but playing dirty would burn bridges and bigger potential benefit.

Never mind, nothing so far suggests that. The deal seems similar ro Olmo, we were willing to pay the price, but not in cash, no one does.
