Still not sure Barca are getting 24m and not now anyway if there is add ons to take it to that.

Portuguese press still saying Porto could/should have removed 20% by paying between 3/6m.

From all the Porto fans discussions online they are taking it as fact that Porto will clear 20% of what Barca get by paying the clause.. they dont seem certain on if this is 3m or 6m more though they have to pay Barca.

This is from O Jogo.

It should be remembered that Barcelona is entitled to 40% of the capital gains - that is, above €8.4 million - and Gestifute to a 10% commission on net revenue under the exclusive contract. All things considered, if Nico leaves for €60 M, the income will only be around €34.2 M. A value that could rise if FC Porto reduces the percentage to which Barça is entitled by half, activating a clause in the contract and paying €6 million to the Blaugrana. In this case, you would receive €43.8 million.

Also City by all accounts are not paying 60m flat now either and 60m is total can reach so wont get full whack of what can get for full fee now either.

This explanation would suggest Barca will get around 15m in total eventually and not all now dependent on structure of deal.

Attention that if you pay those 6M the investment in Nico becomes 14.4M. So the capital gains are 60M-14.4M For this Barça receives 20% of 45.6M (9.12M) Porto receives 50.88M. Otherwise, he received 39.36M. Of course, it pays off because it enters the capital gains accounts.

Thought him, Pedri and Gavi were overrated at the time of 2021. But I am impressed with his progress. By the way, despite his tall stature and long legs he controls the ball very well in small spaces.

He never looked a Busi replacement at Barca really. Came through playing more advanced than that for most part and didnt look like had passing range for it.

Passing range is something a lot of La Masia midfielders in recent years seem to lack to be fair when first come through. Would guess they dominate the ball so much in final third it gets neglected a bit.

Best games for Barca were when given freedom to get forward and looked same at Porto whenever seen them and his phyiscality was being used in final third more.

At a guess he will play the Gundo type midfield role that in possession gets forward and out it sits deeper in a two.

Who knows.
