The club always knew this could happen this summer and this was argued a year ago it most likely would and if they wanted a Dembele type that is what should be brought in as cover last summer to bed in.

Barcelona have officially authorized Ousmane Dembélé to agree with PSG.
Barça had until today to give their authorization. After this period, Dembélé had a clause allowing him to terminate his contract to go on a free.

Few days ago you said you were happy he is leaving why are you bitter now? IMHO if Dembele leaving is a BIG problem for Barca than we have became a joke of a club. This guy brought nothing to this club. During the years some seriously big names (Maradona, Figo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Messi etc.) left the club and the club survived and sometimes even got better. With that in mind losing a player like Dumbele should not be a serious problem for this club. I'd rather say; thank you for nothing Dembele and go f... yourself.

The problem of Dembele leaving is three-fold:

(1) We lost our starting RW and one of our most creative players

(2) Our reputation took another hit as we are being taken advantage of yet again, another player wanted to leave to go to another club, and a lesser club if you will

(3) Through this saga we learned how bad the club handled Dembele's contract and how bad we are in terms of player management (the club knew nothing about him wanting to leave and was caught by surprise? Duh, you set a 50m release clause in the first place so you should have seen it coming!)

They absolutely saw it coming as a possibility. Hence why Raphinha is still at club and no real attempt to move him on.

The fuck up on Dembele stems back to Dec 20/Jan 21 and Laporta the politician trying to tell everyone what they want to hear. The agent called him up on it and pulled out agreed contract.

From there been no trust between Dembele/agent and board.

The summer 2022 should have been better planned with Dembele profile in when this was such a high chance of happening but they can get round it by altering team set up.

Team will be fine even if lacks pace at moment.

Raphinha was never going to leave bar some huge offer above what they valued him at and couldnt turn down.

Had Dembele renewed that would have changed.

He could have gone to Chelsea for similar or less money that the Barca reduced offer they took

The Dembele you claim is world class and just had his best ever spell for Barca at end of last season would have had no options?
