Imo still the least of a flop out of him, Coutinho and Griezmann.

He is young and still has resale value as well as some hope he develops his talent, even if he looks too dumb to even do so.

is there a bigger team of frauds that won a world cup than the french 2018 one?

apart from mbappe, kante and maybe varane, it was full of overrated prima donnas. and even those 3 are a bit questionable.

when you compare them to the 2006 team that lost the final, it's like night and day.

It was the depth of the team. Most of the teams have a strong A-eleven but if you have to play every three days you get tired. France was the only team which could rotate without much quality loss. Belgium was dead tired after the match against brazil while france looked still fresh. The only belgium player who was unstoppable was Hazard, wow what a performance from him.

i'm talking player quality wise. not the fact they had a great assortment of mediocre players which they could rotate.

France barely rotated though. Only rotation I remember was the final group game after they've already topped the group. Don't think they rotated at all during the KO stage, Deschamps had his star starting XI and didn't really deviate from it. France's starting XI was really good compared to everyone else's, no shot.

How can you say that France 2018 was mediocre. They had by far the best team. You can talk shit about current Umtiti, Griezmann and Pogba, but in 2018 they were top 5 players in their respective positions. Add to that Varane, maybe the best CB at that time, Kante best DM/CM in the world, Mbappe, biggest talent since Neymar. And other quality players like Lloris, Lucas, Pavard, etc.

Their football wasn't beautiful to watch, but very successful. Also had the luck that many players of them were in top form at the World Cup. They had a very talented pool of players back then though.

I'd really like to know what team in the tournament had better players individually. Most of the "big" teams had quite a bunch of decent/average/awful players in their starting eleven (already talked about Belgium, but Brazil played with Coutinho, Paulinho, Willian, Miranda, Fagner and Gabriel Jesus that everybody here love trashing; England had Lindgard, Young, Maguire, Walker and Pickford...).

France a "team of fraud", lmao, malvolio never fails to disappoint.
