Do you guys think Dembele has been better than Alexis overall at the club? Without taking their transfer fees into account, who's performed better?

I used to give A LOT of shit and trashed Sanchez in his first 2 years because of his sitters missed and other stuff but in his last year he truly deserved the name jugadorazo. It's like he did a 180 and was a different , much much better player. Great goals , great dribbles , nice football iq , etc . He was huge in La liga scoring 20 or 19 ? and assisting 12.

My favorite goal from him

He then went of to Arsenal for 42 mil iirc which would easily be around 80-90 mil today. For them in 166 games he scored 80 and gave 45 assists.

Overall my experience with him was much much better than with Dembele , can't even compare.

Don't want to get into debate who is better striker. Both are bad scorers and often very frustrating.

I do know Alexis worked his ass off defending so overall he is more complete player.

While I don't rate Mbappe, we made a huge mistake choosing Dembele over Mbappe. Damn.

Let's not kid ourselves. Injuries have really ruined Dembele. Who knows how good he would be if stayed as healthy as Mbappe. In these younger years I think it's very important to play as many matches as possible and develop your skills.

Sure he would be better, but I doubt his first touch would improve that much and other parts of his game. He has taken big leaps forward the past 6 months in his overall game though. I think Koeman has done a good job with him. Valverde didn't do crap (of course injuries ruined a lot of development).

Dembele has improved his defensive game, his runs behind defense etc. He is improving as a footballer.

Could be recency bias, but can't remember Dembele's career having steeper curve than Mbappe's.

He seemed a lot more creative back then, though.

Alexis was like Griezmann but faster and better dribbling. He would track back and defend a lot. He would also score some very crucial goals, like the one in the clasico. However he was very frustrating to watch most matches. He would try to do too many dribbles and his link up with other players was terrible. He never really improved here and he got stuck in this loop of playing at Barca where it was always dribble, pass back, dribble, pass back, dribble, make some stupid shot attempt.

With Dembele his development this season has been really good. More decisive with his actions and shoots when he needs to (most times). I give a slight edge to Dembele

Sanchez by a margin.

Going season by season, while Sanchez's beginnings were poor, Dembele's were nonexistent. And Alexis had way more influence and better output in his third season. Not even comparable.

Dembele is turning it on this season though. He needs a couple of big goals in the do or die games this end of the season. Atletico, Real Madrid, Valencia, Villareal. Do it. If he delivers, his impact will be close to Sanchez 2013-14.

If Koeman is smart, he should set up Dembele and Messi to target one half of the RM defense each. Dembele should keep Vasquez and Militao busy, while Leo occupies Nacho and Mendy. If Leo drops into Midfield, Griezmann should take his place. The key to this game IMO is putting constant pressure on RM's backline, while containing their counters through Vinicius.

They will fold eventually.

This run of games will determine his future here. If he puts in another horrorshow on Saturday as he did against PSG, Laporta won't hesitate to sell him. To be honest, the mere possibility of it being quite probable is alone decent enough of a reason to dispose of him, especially given the rumours that he wants a higher salary for the extension.
