I can't even count the amount of games last season where he started over Villa and Tello.

I truly believe he was one(actually two) season wonder. The 09-10 season and the 10-11 were his breakout seasons. After that I really don't know what the hell happened to him.

Exactly . Look at the difference in quality between David Villa and flamin Pedro tonight !!

Should have sold him a month ago when we reportedly got a ridiculously high offer for him .

He should NEVER start again for us , just. substation appearances .

Jees !

He looks like an average championship player every time I see him play. No way should he be starting for Barca.

i would put any player who runs and fights for the ball as much as pedro

Villa wasnt that good yesterday imo, he just scored the goal on the counter, a nice shot though.. but nothing that amazing

in our current squad with Alves who losses balls and doesnt bother to come back, Xavi who cant tackle at all (!), Messi who, for some reason, doesnt bother to fight back for the ball after losing possession sometimes (unlike few years ago), Iniesta who isnt that much of a presser aswell,
in this current situation ^
we actually have to count a lot on our wingers not only to score goals or cross or cut inside etc... but actually to do A LOT of pressure and defense..
Sanchez is getting better and better in that, i admit..
Neymar is getting used to it..
Tello .. i think he's quite ok on that part.. but - Pedro .. i dont think u can underestimate his effort and influence on our pressure game

he's one of our most important players atm .. in my opinion. specially because we are losing our quick-pressure gameplay as the years go by.

Apart from the goal, what did Villa do?

Did Pedro play last night ? I swear I saw him chase the ball twice and screw up a pass and that's it. Forgettable performance, I'd rather have that one trick pony Tello burning people down the flank and crossing or shooting any day when Pedro plays like this.

He kept bullying our defenders for the rest of the game. Plus the goal, you know goals can make differences in such games.

If by bullying you mean pressing, then Pedro did the same, but if you mean bullying by dribbling past players, then I would like to know what game you saw cause I never saw him take on a defender and get past him. From what I saw, the only thing that seperates Villa's and Pedro's game last night is the goal. But apart from that they had a very similiar performance..

Bullying means kept pressuring (An actual pressing down the defenders, playing on their weaknesses and making the correct runs through them). Plus Villa was spot on when needed and his positioning was great for his goal. Pedro on the other hand was nowhere when he was needed. I'm like a big fan of Pedro, but compared to Villa, no, just no, specially last night.

In that case Pedro was "bullying" the defender as well. Like I said, the only difference between Pedro's and Villa's performance was the goal, seeing as both pressed the defender whenever possible..

There's a difference between just running towards players and actually seeing an opportunity to force the defender into making an error.

Villa wasn't playing against a parked bus. It is a lot harder for Barca forwards as they have much less space as Villa himself found out when he was at the club. Pedro did not have his best game but he is important to the team.
