That guy is a big part of why football is ruined nowadays, his moronic galactico projects and making the marketprices go up for years.
Him and the oil clubs, a cancer to the sport.
They've also paid for a lot of club's debts with these ridiculous prices. For some clubs the inflated market is a curse, for others its a blessing.
That's not frequent. What's frequent is that small clubs can't follow in on high transfervalues.
They are not competing with small clubs when it comes to signing players though. There will always be bargains and homegrowns, the stars however have gotten alot more expensive due to the new rich clubs on the market. All they do is bring more money into the industry, Im sure clubs like Malaga and San Sebastian are loving it since they need money.
I don't believe that only stars have become expensive. It creates inflationary conditions in the market of football players, which affects all clubs and players. Unlike an international economy where this isn't a problem because the value of money follows inflation, this is a problem in football. This is especially a problem for middle sized clubs like for instance FC Copenhagen or Plzeň.
It's only been promise for Madrid for over 10-12 years
EDIT: I also like how Carvajal is now the most promising RB in the world
Sold to Germany and then bought back after Neymar essentially ended Arbeloa's career at the top level.
Of course, but with any player there is a risk factor. Sahin was player of the season in Germany and he failed at Madrid. Alexis was player of the season in Italy and he has had a lot of difficulty at Barca. There are factors that increase risk(being young, changing league, playing in a different system, position on the pitch). Three young players carry a lot of risk, especially at Real Madrid who have a recent history of players not succeeding, the likes of Adan, Canales, Granero, Callejon, Soldado, Miguel Torres etc.
Carvajal has the easiest job since he is at RB so a bit out of the way, but it remains to be seen how good he is. He is the least proven of the three. I don't see why Wallbreaker is comparing him with Montoya. Montoya has proven he can play well at Barca, fit into the system effectively and cope with the pressure. Carvajal has proven nothing at Madrid, there's not even a guarantee that he'd even displace Arbeloa.
Isco and Illa are more proven, especially Isco who's done well in the Champions League. But they play in the midfield which means they'd be crucial to the system so it's not just their individual quality that matters but also their ability to make the midfield and thus entire team cohesive. They also have a lot of competition and could just fail to make an impact the same as Granero and Sahin, you know, it just happens. Madrid is the most demanding club in the world and the fans want success now, it's a big challenge for them.
Karanka portugués!!
Carvajal was purchsed before the Confeds started because of his performances in Germany and being one of the most highly rated RBs in the league. Arbeloa's career has nothing to do with Carvajal, and least of which, Neymar. Please, don't spew inaccurate information on this board.
Arbeloa was terrible before the confeds too. Everybody knew Neymar would expose him, heck, Brazil's tactics on the counter were based on Neymar vs him. Hyping up Carvajal just because he re-signed doesn't make him a the most promising RB in the world. If that's what you're saying.
