Pep will have a harder job in Munich than he did in Barcelona. He grew up with Barca and knew every facet of the club.
In Germany he'll have to adapt and reinvent himself but this is what many great managers have done before him and he's well aware that this is the biggest challenge of his career yet.

Here's a little flashback into Pep's early days as a coach. 4 part article on Pep's success with Barcelona B and how the genius behind the current Barcelona got them promoted from the 4th division to Segunda B. Added to that, he firmly established a coaching system that resounds throughout La Masia and shapes the entire club today.

You´re right arguing that his next job will be harder than the one he had at Barca. Any job would have been harder no matter which team or culture he would chose.
His decision for Bayern shows that you´re right thinking that he was well aware of the challenge. It is surely not easy to learn german in half a year making himself capable to communicate with his new players. Reading the links Iniesta123 has posted gives an impression that he needs to speak german good enough not only to describe his ideas about football. If he wants to motivate the players he has to communicate on quite a high platform.
Besides the language to me Bayern has been the perfect choice. Its one of the best organized clubs in European football. Like Barca it has its own culture and allthough Bayern belongs to the best 5 clubs in Europe there is enough room for improvement. Bayern has quite a young squad with a lot of promising talents and after playing under van Gaal they are used to a possession orientated system.
I do not agree that Pep has to reinvent himself. No one expects that Bayern will play Tiki Taka. As a creative football brain I think he already has ideas how he wants the team to play. That is going to be one of the most interesting aspects. How will they play? How will Pep adapt his football concept with the players he will work with at Bayern?

I think Pep learned a lesson after he failed to adapt Barca's biggest signing to his system.
I do agree that it probably won't be as much the transformation of Bayern (who btw. share the similar philosophy already) as the transformation of Pep.

I'm very curious to see how Pep part deux looks at Bayern...although I'm less inclined to believe he's going to change his tactics or playing style....He may adapt some to incorporate what talent he has available but he's played one way his entire life, I can't see how that would change now

The cultural nuances coupled with the particularities of a club like Bayern are going to be a massive difference for Pep - he was in his comfort zone here since he was a child...I am confident he will do as well as many of us expect but he can't outdo what he's already done - it's always going to look inferior to his prior work...But it doesn't mean it won't be impressive
