Did Bayern fire him yet ? So we can sign him instead of Lucho. :pep::lol:

Nein, both Rummenigge and Sammer defended him after the game. He will have at least another year to try his things out.

Again, I'd say watch out for next season's Bayern, could be even better after working out the kinks.

I know, I was just kidding. Bayern will be back.

Maybe the Thiago injury came at a wrong time as Pep usually would change mids if it doesn't work. Kroos and Shweini were really weak during both legs. A Thiago could of added some more creativity

Pep DID visit Tito briefly in NY, but the visit was uncomfortable and Pep left shortly after he arrived. In the time after Tito was in Hospital Pep never went there . He didn't meet again with Tito until a couple of months ago when they reconciled their differences and it became clear that a lot of mistruths were said about the them from one party to the other, and that is partly what created the animosity between both of them when Tito took sole charge of the team.

I believe that when Tito passed away, he had already made peace with Pep and vice-versa. Their friendship was bigger than any petty squabble.

We don't know anything about what happened between them, we got no details at all, nothing, we don't know whether it was as big of an issue at all.

We, the media, and most likely other "insiders" and board members probably don't know a single detail.

I don't get why we are assuming, and thinking about possible scenarios when we don't have anything to base them on, and especially now that Tito is no longer with us.

It's a forum I know and most discussions are not pointless, but I really think that this one is, I really do.

I wouldn't want pep to come back to us so soon, firstly because i don't think he can bring to barca what we need most in the current situation. and secondly, i like pep alot as a person and as a coach and i want him to continue on his way to be an all time coaching legend. The insane amount of titles he's won at barca often let us forget that he's only been a first team coach for six years! in comparison to guys like ancelotti, van gaal, heynckes, ferguson, del bosque etc he is still a rookie. He needs to be out of his comfort zone for a couple of years now in order to grow and gain experience.

I love how everyone comments on Guardiola now with a condescending tone, as if he was a beginner coach looking to prove himself. Newsflash: Guardiola's Barcelona won 14 trophies in 4 years, including 2 CLs, making him the club's most successful coach in its 100+ year history. Pep doesn't have to prove shit to anyone.

I think this trashing is good for Pep. Know he will hopefully learn his lesson and comeback wiser and with new ideas. It will improve him.

What he has to prove is that he can work with a different squad and utilize it's strengths.
Today he didn't get his tactics right and it seems that right now Bayern is weaker due to Pep's idea of changing too many things.

Hope he leaves Bayern. It was audacious of him to think that he could take tiki taka to Germany! Just him, a single coach, could change how a whole nation played!! His only choice is to go back home to Spain or to forget his ideologies and coach to win like most other coaches. Hope he choses the former.

I'm not sure he's willing to learn, at least not fundamentally. He has his ideas and when his team loses the team didn't apply those ideas correctly according to him. For example his team got exposed on the counter very badly in the Supercups against Chelsea and Dortmund. 8 months later exact same problems because exact same basic tactics. Actually if Welbeck could finish ... even Moyeschester United caused Bayern immense trouble under Pep. After 150 minutes they were leading, fss. Arsenal were all over them before going down to 10 men. Whenever Bayern lost people brushed it aside as "unimportant games" (Dortmund 0-3 after winning the league, City 2-3 after being qualified for the CL) but they had trouble in pretty much every big game this season bar Etihad when City played naive attacking 4-4-2 and Dortmund away when Dortmund had their entire team injured.

As for this game: He bemoaned that the midfield was weak but Schweinsteiger and Kroos don't work well together in a 2 man midfield. Anyone who watches Bayern longer than 1 year knows this, their fans know this, even I know this. They have always sucked together. Neither is a dedicated defensive pivot. It's like playing Xavi and Fabregas in midfield with no one else alongside them. Why is he allergic to Martinez? Why does he not rate Götze? Ribery is clearly in shocking form. Götze is a talent as big as Neymar. If I were a Bayern fan I'd have million things to criticize.

Would take him back, no doubt. But I love that this is happening to him because people were getting annoying, especially guys like migeru on Twitter.

He seems like a reasonable guy most of the time, but he can be very pretentious and defensive when it comes to Barca; normal behaviour for a die-hard fan I guess. Refusing to accept something until there's irrevocable evidence (like today's annihilation).

And then there's people like allas who are just  Honestly, if that guy didn't make nice videos....

I agree with everything you said. Pep messed up a lot of things tactically. I feel like he tried too hard to put his own stamp on things. The only correct thing he did today was put Lahm back at RB. The one thing that shocks me the most is his avoidance of Martinez. He was the last piece that took Bayern from being competitive on all fronts to winning a treble and then pep just makes him a bench warmer most of the season. Dante and Boateng have been exposed countless times because they no longer have Martinez and Schweinsteiger in the double pivot stopping attacks in midfield. I'm also quite surprised to see Gotze play so little in important matches. What did they sign him for then? Maybe Pep felt scared to bench Ribery? I don't know what he was thinking. With the proper tactics, Bayern could've dominated this tie.

They had 70% possession, therefore they did dominate:xavi::pep:
