Mentality-wise he is as bad as it gets. We never saw this because the Liverpool he played for were low-pressure underachievers, they were never under pressure to win Premier League titles, or even make the CL places . At Barca you are under scrutiny from day one.

I am still sticking to my theory that it is another Hleb situation; a case of player having personal issues that we don't know about that is destroying his career.

Too bad we didn't sell him last summer. I know with COVID and all that we likely wouldn't have received a big fee, but listening to Koeman's desire to keep him was a big, big mistake in hindsight.

With his injury troubles this season I don't know if we'll even get 30m for him.

I doubt it was just Koeman decision, even before Bayern game it seemed both parties knew he was coming back.

No market for him and his wage, player wasn't going to midtable team and we were never going to give him up when he was worth more than 60M on our books

At this stage we have to forget about the transfer fee paid and find a club willing to loan him for a % of his wage and a low buy option.

I'm sure Coutinho's club expectations have also reduced with this injury. So it will be a case of finding the right fit who will play him so he can give himself a personal shot of finding form and trying to make the WC squad. While we wage dump and try to get him off the books next summer.

Shows just what risky assets football players can be.

Not too sure about that. We could have at least loaned him out to Arsenal as they were desperately looking for a player like him before settling on ?degaard.

That was on Koeman though. He wanted to keep Coutinho. Now looking at it, it was definitely a mistake. We had two very similar players in Coutinho and Griezmann. (I think Griez is way better at this point anyway).

We should have loaned Coutinho..

Philippe Coutinho has visited Aspetar in Qatar for a medical consultation today.

Traveled all the way to Qatar ?

FFS first Messi is dragging back Coutinho on the field from making it as a starter in the team ,and now he can't even get treatment somewhere in Barcelona because Messi is in the same city.
