Given our options, I think the best way to use Coutinho would be to have him replace Busquets. De Jong takes Busquets place where he will offer us CDM and then some more. Coutinho ahead of the play and to initiate attacks from the opponents half, so De Jong has to build out from the back with Pedri and the fullbacks and get the ball to Coutinho. Defensively, Busquets gives us nothing anyway so this won't really hamper us much, and that sort of nullifies the fact that Coutinho won't track back a lot.

When De Jong is out of position I'd one of Pedro / Greizman / the LW will have to cover for him so he can foray forward when he sees the opportunity. For this to work, Greizman needs to stick to the RW and develop some better chemistry with Dest.

If you can read properly, you would see that ancient was not written based on his age. He has been out of form for the past 3 seasons, has been seriously prone to injuries in this time frame and does not have a specified role/position in the team. And besides no one apart from Barca and its fans talks about Coutinho nowadays, he is literally non-existent in the world of football.

Who cares - for example look at that clown Greasman doing nothing for 30 games in a row, Cou at least can dribble somebody/anybody and maybe get a shot at goal.

I am not saying it's nice but we need depth now and if we can't get rid of him, we will have use for him.
