Btw. This should be ideal situation for Coutinho. He likes to be the man, so now he has opportunity for that. Like back in the day with Liverpool.

Could be the case yeah.

Altho maybe a Newcastle or Everton turn desperate and take him for a 20-30m fee. Possibly Liverpool too, but their owners seem content not spending anything and driving Klopp away.

Newcastle are staving off relegation, no way would they take him.

Honestly think it has to be at least semi big side (Spurs minimum) on short term who takes a squad hit through injury and then get convinced with him as he performs well for them for half a year leading to permanent move. Or same case but when their main option regressed and now sucks balls and they need an alternative. Maybe then will anyone take a chance on a high profile reject like Cou given how much money and risk it costs but both new club need a way to keep afloat and are willing to pay price, and the player doesn't see the move as a downgrade.
Not that different from Bale scenario either.

Liverpool, Bayern, Juve...

Maybe one of the Milan clubs, or a team like Napoli.

I don't know how much is yet to be amortized, but if they threw that into last year's budget which was approved with losses of like almost 450m then I'd let him go for free just to get rid of his salary.

With that being said he has a golden opportunity to make himself useful now. Probably his last chance at salvaging any decent career move.

Napoli like side only if a big manager is there to get player interested otherwise he'll only see it as end of his career. James only considered Napoli and Everton because of Carlo. Most time a thought of hitting a good few months od form at Barcelona is more appealing than trying to prove you're great with 'lesser partners' around.

Milan wouldn't be interested. Their policy seems quite good and not focused on big names who don't even prove worth on pitch every day. Look how they go back for Brahim in a heartbeat but twiddle their thumbs over Isco even after he shedded weight and played 90 mins in friendly against them.

Roma more like if he fancies playing for Mou

Think at this point most poorer clubs invest more heavily in research trying to keep afloat so they barely pay for such players cuz they know how much baggage he comes with and the elite always invest in the best lot. IMO you're stuck with Coutinho like we are with Isco.

Loan to Liverpool I'd not be surprised with if Mane keeps playing like a halfwit.

It is obviously very difficult or it would have been done already.
But things usually get a bit easier when one year is left in contract, which will be the case next summer.
If he enters the summer healthy, some clubs might take a punt on him and he might be willing to reduce wage a bit in order to get a better future deal.
Won't be easy either, but it only takes 1 team to make that decision.

Sure. Just case of which team would bother to want to take punts rather than sign quality players on the upswing in their career. Only some need it sporadically and player isn't vocal about wanting change. Someone has to come for him and he has to see that team as interesting. Count on one hand list of those who may fit that bill now and in near future I think

Now that he is the highest paid player at the team, all eyes will again be on him to perform. This time injuries won't save him from criticism.

In 5 months time, Laporta has done an excellent job cleaning up the squad - let's hope in the coming months the rest of the deadweight (Coutinho, Pjanic, Umtiti, Neto & Lenglet) are moved out as well
