If they are trying for an 18 month loan then his amortised value could not have been written off as a loss last summer as was reported.

Maybe they reduced it in part though to decrease impact on losses.

Be interesting to see the logic of the 18 month loan on the books of that indeed happens. Must be a reason for it as well as just wanting chunk of salary gone next season.

Maybe they've reduced it to match his actual market value at the time. According to TM his MV in June was 30m and then dropped to 20m in October but ofc club could have different valuation.

Could see them writing off like half of his value, so basically his amortization for this season as they were hoping we could potentially sell him for like 15-20m so we wouldn't have that big loss on him.

The word here is that it's going to be a 6-month loan. The announcement is expected this morning though so won't take long to find out hopefully.

Of course its a loan and .probably Barca pay some of the salary. Nobody in their right mind would actually pay for this clown. Wont be long until hes back because theres no chance he will hack it in the EPL

There was rumblings of an 18 month loan that's why I said about 6 months. Seems to be conflicting reports in that department.

Good deal for all involved. Villa get a low buy fee that if agreed, they can take up before the expired contract auction in 2023.

I dont see Coutinho lowering his wages though, so good chances he is back in the summer and were looking for another loan. So lets hope he performs well enough.
