Sometimes I think whether Real deserves to be the most hated club by barca fans.If real was from another country and we were not inevitable rivals, then probably chelsea would be my most hated club.
I do hate Chelsea way more than Real.

I'd still prefer them over Madrid in a CL final, to prevent the Decima and for the comedy of Jose beating his old club.

Most Sky and Espn commentators view him as a football genius.

I wouldn't consider him a genius, but the organization he puts in his defence and midfield is great. Putting players behind the ball and giving up initiative for the entire match is a risky tactic. Also, Chelsea don't exactly have world beaters in their squad (their team today was very average), so talk about Mourinho having xxx budget is pretty irrelevant.

...If Roman Abramovic fancies winning at all costs, than it's fine by me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Abramovic sack Mourinho because he wanted his team to play "beautiful football"?

And later, why he tried to move heaven and earth to sign Pep.

Well, if he hated defensive football, he would have sacked him again by now. Abramovic wants to win. Period.

Liverpool might slip up now and City got Everton so it could be Chelsea's year.
Why people hate the bus is ridiculous, Chelsea should've just handed the points over to Liverpool at Anfield without their best players if they didn't park the bus. Variety makes football exciting and ensures that the game isn't played on paper

I don't want to start an argue, but any tactic that does not involve unsportmanlike behaviour is fair and admissible. I hate Chelsea for their time-wasting and I don't like Mourinho because he is theatrical. But to say a team does not deserve respect because it plays defensive football is wrong IMO.

Mounrinho is beyond defensive football at this point. What we witnessed there was not defensive football, but total cowardly anti-football.

Atletico Madrid play defensive football, yet it is still totally different than what Mourinho. Atletico is the perfect proof you can play defensive football and still play entertaining football.

What Mourinho does is destroy what the other team creates and wait for a mistake to capitalize. All the while, being perfectly fine with a nil-nil draw vs a big team from the starting whistle. There is no respect in my world for this.

This is like masters painting masterpieces infront of crowds as a form of beautiful entertainment, then next to them hooligans taking those masterpieces and destroying them and people then claiming that is also a form of entertainment.

I think the solution might come from counterattacking. When a team parks the bus, the attacking team brings themselves back into their own half passing the ball, pulling the defenders forward. That is the only thing I can think of that does not include a rule change.

we tryed that. first half. they stayed back still. mou has taken out the human instinct to attack, his players are just robots.

I wouldn't say so for a lower table team that are desperate to get points. For a team that has a bigger budget than any other besides RM in football, playing cowardly football is not respectable. You can do it, you can succeed with it, but don't expect anything but disgust. They're allowed to do whatever they want to win, but they won't get respect for it.

I understand your point of view, I really do, but I think some teams have a way of playing that can't be changed simply by money. I remember Chelsea winning 3-1 on Stanford Bridge against Barcelona and going to Camp Nou to defend that lead (about 15 years ago). They didn't even try to score in the return leg, they got to score once by pure luck. The match ended 5-1, with Rivaldo and Kluivert scoring goals in extra time, and we went through. They were defensive even then, in 1999.

If it weren't for Gerrard's mistake; Rodgers might've been content to pass the ball around and settle for 0-0. That's what I would've done. I'm very curious how Chelsea will set up vs Atletico. Could be that they park the bus at home and Atletico pass it around for 120 minutes then penalties. Wouldn't surprise me.

The hate LOL. Would love to see any other manager to park the bus as effectively as Mou has done over the years. What a troll this man is. He's gone to win and he won.

I feel a bit bad for Liver fans, but their team has been exposed again, which didn't really surprise me too much. Still quite unfortunate for them.
