They spent nearly 600m in the last years, they should have an elite squad at this stage. Barca on that money would be a huge force in Europe.
Apparently they need to spend another 300m because barcelona started off in a better position than they did.

Also, Atletico can be nasty to play against if they make it far. City had huge problems vs Atletico in 2021. Barely made it alive from Spain.

At home though, in CL, if City are on, it's hard not to escape with a bad defeat.

I think Barca have the players... they have likes of FDJ/Pedri who are as set for anyone in world to try and take them on in possession game then also have Araujo who could well be best placed CB physically to try and stop/limit Haaland.

True and that’s the most likely scenario. Madrid have shipped 8 goals in two visits to the Etihad. They’ve got an aura their now.

Atletico have been fairly fortunate v Celtic and Feeyenord so far but those are games they have to come out in.

Didnt look great in either.

I think you can count on one hand the games Barca played having a full fit 11.

Same as most sides really but the argument is based on when fit.

If likes of FDJ/Araujo missing and City have full side then of course has impact.

KDB is having a lot of issues in last few seasons.

True, but Atletico is an odd case. They have problems in groups, but if they make it out, nobody fancies them in knockouts.

Atletico have done fuck all in Europe for years but Griezmann and Morata are in good form so could change.

Little seems to have changed for them other than that really. Much the same standard.

Most sides don't have players from the academy on the bench with little to no experience to step in for missing starters.

Barca wont have that and just about all would have that if had 6/7/8 injuries.

The fact Barca have so many injuries and can still put out an eleven that went toe to toe with Real is not an argument against squad being light really.

Happens more often than would think that teams have a number of young players or dont even fill bench when have a lot of injuries.
