The law is planned to be applied only for two years and it will affect a few thousands in a country of 65 million people.

The economic crisis affects France's economy very much and especially, as always, the lower and middle class. So the purpose of such a tax hike is that people with lower incomes won't have to pay more taxes. To be honest I don't believe that this measure will solve France's problem in the long run, but it will sure help some poor families to live a better year or two.

Personally I find dangerous the portrayal of immigrants, illegal or not, as the root of all evil in western societies or as a plague. It is inhumane, insensitive and more often than not it breeds racism and violence.

44 millions from football clubs won't help at all. And you won't even get 44 millions from them in the end.

If some players are sold during the winter mercato because clubs can't be in the red for this year, then said players won't pay any tax at all since they will not be here anymore. Hence you won't get 44 millions even. It's just a token to try to appease the people that have enough of tax, but economy Wise it makes no sense and every experts of the subject that has no link to politics and politicians would say it.

Also, lowering the level of the league is bad for everyone, including the state and many companies that use football clubs as a marketable product.

And as for the illegal immigrants, sorry but France went so crazy that now illegal immigrants get free health care while many poor frenchs can't pay for one.

I like how it is seen as a grave sin to say it in France, and if you say that, you're rejected as Fascist or member of the FN party, but no, in some case it's the reality.

Maybe you're part of "that France" that likes to make people shut up and that puts many problems in a box so that no one can talk about it, but as for me I'm not part of it.

The USA or UK or even Germany have many bad qualities, but free speech is one thing that France as a country of the human rights has long forgotten.

Socialists keep accusing others when nationalists get more and more vote, but they are a big part of the problem since they are the ones using the law to shut up people including experts that points disfunctions everywhere in our system.

So gonna keep what i said.

The Leonarda case showed many things despite the left wings politicians that tried to hide those kind of problems for years and even more since socialists got all the power.

Now we have the problems in Bretagne that are the results of the avalanche of taxes we got again lately.

And Hollande keeps promising cut in public expenses but never did anything. Even more, he lied when he said he did for the fiscal year 2014. He did not, he lowered the expenses he planned to do, but in the end, he still plans to spends more than what he gets. Hence France is still in the red.

But I'm sure people like you will put me in the FN or facists box while i'm not at all.

I am an immigrant myself to the US. I really have not heard anywhere that the immigration, legal or not, is the root of all evil in Western societies. In the US, illegal immigrants tend to get portrayed in a very negative light as leeches and so forth. Most Americans, when they think of illegal immigrants, tend to think of Hispanics and Mexicans in particular.

Personally, I'm not particularly a fan of people breaking the law to enter into a country. That really is my only gripe with it. The positives tend to be that like other immigrants, they assimilate into the American culture over a generation or two. Economically, they pay taxes and add to the US economy by doing work that others won't.

By the way, to get the topic back on point, what are the odds of an exodus by Ibra and Thiago Silva because of the tax hike?

Illegal immigrants are not a problem as long as the country where they go has enough money to help them.

It's not the case of France anymore. We're in the red. They are more and more and more poor people. Unemplyement is a plague and socialists refuse to understand that you can't give jobs to immigrants when you don't even have enough for the people that are already here.

It's good to want to help every poor people in this world, but as i said above, a cake can't be sliced endlessly.

And if politicians refuse to understand it, then they will get punished during the next elections.

Same for the public expenses. Surveys showed that french are massively ok to make some cut and to stop public money wastes that lots and lots of politicians do from mayors to the top of the state.

But no, we keep getting more and more civil servants and many said civil servants keep wasting money everywhere. Studies showed that France is a massive country in term of public money waste.

What's sad is that many illegal immigrants think that France or sweden are some paradises, but they are not.

The problem of France is that we can't be honest. We are unable to say that we don't the have money to help everyone because immediately it's seen as inhuman and insensitive by people like Hulot. We just pretend to. And we're going right to crash on a massive wall.

Using racism and the FN party as excuses to make people shut up on many problems that France has won't work forever.

I really feel insulted by people like Hulot, because every times some problems are pointed, immediately people like Hulot say that people are inhuman if not racist and what not.

Some nordic countries already started to cut the help they give to immigrants btw. And I'm willing to bet France will have to follow some day.

75% taxation will not help anyone in the long run and most investors will leave the country and no skilled personnel can be attracted to france.......it is just something Hollande promised during his campaign so he is following through with it.........

Illegal immigrants in France almost pay no taxes beside the TVA on each products or food they buy. Beside that, they get a lot of helps from associations (those associations that get themselves a LOT of money from the state), from the cities and from the state.

Actually, among all the people living in France, 50% of the people in France don't pay the "income tax". Not even a penny. They don't pay at all. So don't compare it with other countries, we're in another craziness entirely.

As for Ibra and TS, they won't leave because PSG is the only club that can pay every new tax for them.

It's in their contracts, if there is a new tax, the club is paying it for them.

But PSG is alone in that case. They are not the rules, but the exception.

What's sad for Hollande is that it's not working.

It played a role in him winning the election but that's all.

It's not because he will keep that tax that makes no sense economics Wise, that he will get praises.

Most people won't care if the 75% tax is cut or not, because all they care is the taxes they have to pay.

And a Survey showed 2 days ago that between 60%-70% of French have noticed that they have to pay higher taxes and more taxes than the last year.

In 2012, Hollande and Ayrault promised that 9 french out of 10 won't have to pay more taxes. http://www.luipresident.fr/engagement/9-francais-sur-10-epargnes-par-leffort-fiscal-628

Here the results. He lied and people hate him for that. And the 75% tax won't change that.

I wasn't comparing it with other countries. I was responding to a previous poster's claim that illegals are seen as a plague in Western countries. I was just providing him a view-point from the American perspective.

how is zlatan doing , is he going to play tomorrow?

There is chance of him starting the match tomorrow.

Cavani in injured though, and will not play.

TS will probably make his great return. Talking about TS, i'll post something nice in his dedicated thread :)

The guy right next to him on the right is also some actor guy, but I forgot his name/which movies I saw him in. As for Leo... way to go to betray your German roots...
Doesn't give a crap about the German teams, starts cheering for the new-rich kid on the block who hit the money cheat. :/
btw, is that a laser in his right hand? :D

If I'm not mistaken, their unbeaten run currently stands at 33 games. Not too bad. It wouldn't surprise me if PSG advance to the semi-finals in the CL.

Adrien Rabiot, now that's a talented player. Already a better player than Matuidi and should definitely be a consistent starter. Matuidi needs to be dropped. They'll dominate the midfield even more without him.
