He doesn't need "2.8 chances". What you're refering to is his shot to goal ratio. He scored 22 goals and took 60 shoots = 2.7 shots per goal. Which is probably the best conversion rate in Europe. Messi took 202 shots for 50 goals = 4.0 shots per goal. RvP needed 174 shots for 30 goals = 5.8 shots per goal. Those stats just highlight how clinical Higuain is infront of goal. He needs half as many shots as van Persie to score a goal.

I actually agree. Remember how he carried them in 2009 / 2010? 27 goals and half a dozen of assists in 32 games at the age of 22. Not many strikers could carry a team like Real Madrid at that age. The natural goalscorer Barcelona need. Let's hope they buy Neymar and dump Higuain. Then Higuain can do an Eto'o.

perhaps y he had as many assists as RVP last season. Or that 4 of messi's last 9 for the Albiceleste have been his courtesy. And that he creates more for his team than someone like Falcao.

Van Persie played more than twice as much as Higuaín.
For the record, Higs has 50+ assists thus far, which is greater than RVP at the same age. If that is shit, what does that make of Cisse and Ba?

Which is all the more impressive when you consider that RvP started as a winger where his main job was to feed the main striker with assists. Higuain might not be trequartista-esque like Ibra. But neither is he a Mario Gomez copycat. And since we're in the Falcao thread: Higuain is much more of a playmaking forward than Falcao.
And above all: Higuain is only 24. He's like 3 years away from his peak.
