He just looks so fucking stupid . Much more so than even Tata. I don't understand what inspired Perez to hire this guy. He doesn't even have the popular reputation that Flo desires, let alone the intelligence or tactical intuition that a manager for a club that size should have.

Apart from Valencia and a couple of good seasons at Liverpool, he has done shit in football management.

The moment they decided to replace Ancelotti there wasn't many better coaches available really
Benitez is also a former RM youth system player and coach .he was finally going to be a coach who if succeeded can point about his RM DNA
Only Klopp had bigger profile than him last off-season and he announced he won't coach immediately and probably would have rejected RM .
If it wasn't Benitez the other options would have been coaches with zero experience at top level ,like Paco,Unai or Zidane .that isn't RM type of hiring
The real mistake was letting Ancelotti go tbf

Because Perez fired Ancelotti while the players loved him, they are not motivated for him and it showed.
That he is a clueless idiot makes it easy to blame him but you can also blame the players, the fans but in the grand scheme of things its all down to dictator Perez.

I feel like the RM players are not fully committed to the Benitez philosophy. I still feel the majority of their squad thinks it was a complete mistake for Uncle Flo to fire Ancelotti. He was as good of a fit for RM as you can have in a coach.

His tactics focused on pressure and ruthless counter attacks whereas Benitez is ALWAYS scared to have his players go forward. This doesn't suit BBC at all, especially CR.

Madrid have a very good squad. Why wouldn't you blame the manager for losing 4-0?

His tactics are clearly not suited for RM. They are outdated and not suitable for modern era football, especially modern era La Liga. Everyone knew this even before Benitez was appointed.

I kept hearing the pundits here say Benitez tried to please perez and rm fans with the attacking line-up, that it wasn't the way he usually setup his team. They think not playing Casemiro to accomodate the other stars was a big mistake.

Sounds plausible. I imagine Perez hates Casemiro just like he hated Makelele.

And then Benítez is everything but advocate of gung ho lineups like Madrid presented on Saturday.
