Rafinha Alcantara

I hope that he starts against Elche. He's been looking confident on the pitch lately and Iniesta would get some rest for the next leg against Atleti.

Xavi is the one stunting his growth. Rafinha has been playing wonderful in copa and doesn't get a sniff because coach Xavi wants to partner Iniesta and Busi in the mid like it's 2009.

Xavi and Rafinha are different players. Xavi is used to control the ball, Rafinha is used when you want attacking mid. Even Xavi on his peak wouldn't be threat to Rafinha, they have entirely different roles.

He was really poor today. Many missed passes and tried to show too much flair (without success). He's still not worth place among starters.

I still think he is absolute shit(not barca quality) but he played alright today, especially in the second half

He maybe wasn't brilliant, but he wasn't THAT poor. He had some good passes, his positioning was good, some alright defending - overall he was average, which is good considering he plays for Barca :)

It wasn't a bad performance, but he didn't stand out. He did have another notable moment (I think it was his pass to Neymar that led to the penalty?). Other than that, he got dispossessed less than both Messi/Neymar today so sloppiness wasn't too big of a concern and he knew when to play it safe. He was linking up with Neymar/Messi quite a bit in the second half (pass to Neymar before the one-two with Messi leading to his 2nd). Our first half was poor in general so he wasn't particularly bad then.
