Yeah, it's a shame. You have to admire the mental fortitude he's shown in how he's come back from those injuries. Realizing that your legs already aren't what they used to still relatively early in ones career isn't easy. That's several uphill battles he's faced head on.
It seemed that 2014/15 was a make it or break it year for him. Wasn't his biggest fan back then but he put in a shift every damn game he played. Showed some good control and slick touches to glide past players but it never seemed to amount to anything besides maybe a free kick in a dangerous area. Even though he beat a man, he could never really escape with composure intact and able to profit off the dribble.
Didn't watch him at Inter and this might be a rushed conclusion, but it seems that he's adapted his game so it's more in tune with what his legs can afford him. More mature. More focused on end product. Doesn't get himself into situations that he can't get out of with anything to show for it.
