For a second I thought we sold him, it almost gave me a heart attack!

Flavia, it is kind of odd to move him to this second since technically he is still our player.
Right now he is a celta player, not Barça's. All players on loan get moved, as they're not part of the squad. If/when they come back, they're moved back.

Hope to see this kid develop and become better than his brother and come back to Barca to heal the wounds his brother left.

Celta couldn't afford Rafinha's wages, so they wanted Barca to pay part of his wages. In return, Barca asked Celta to include a first option for youth players Yelko
Pino, Santi Mina & Ruben Blanco.

If Celta agreed to those terms, this is a smart deal on Barca's part. Blanco is a talented GK prospect and Mina is an amazing striker.

Rafinha (on loan at Celta): "My favourite position? Central midfielder. Football idol? My father. Who would I want Celta to sign? Thiago."

Come next season we will be facing the same problem...Same shit different son.
He will perhaps be competing with sergi, xavi, iniesta, jds, cesc and whoever we foolishly decide to buy.

JDS will be gone by then. Our young midfielders will be Rafinha, Roberto, and Samper. Rafinha played alright vs Porto, he was one of the factors that helped Celta actually start getting forward instead of sitting back. I hope he develops into a deeper role than the AM/SS type thing he's been used at, his technique is very great for buildup play.

What if Denis Suarez is bought?

Doubtful that both Rafinha and Denis could both play the same role and succeed in the first team, one will have to evolve and adapt to a different position. My bet is on Rafinha doing that because he's more accustomed to directing buildup play than Suarez who acts more like a pacy winger/wide midfielder with some technical ability.

Where is he playing? AM?

Yes, showing great flair and linkup but his best asset seems to be drawing defenders in and then releasing the ball to the charging wingers to create a scoring chance. If he keeps developing the way he has so far with Celta, then he'll definitely be a success for us linking up with dynamic wingers like Neymar and maybe Deulo when he returns.

Cool, thanks.
