If they can get Lacazette for about 40 of the 49m, even though they end up overpaying, this window will be a success for them
knowing them though, their first targets are probably the 'EPL tested' Berahino or Benteke
Why would Lacazette want to move to Liverpool? A top club will be in for him before long. Berahino and Benteke would be good signings for Liverpool. Both Premier League proven strikers who are young and will only get better.
Where did I say they'll get 50m for him? WOAT comprehension skills
I am implying that Liverpool have to spend, and even overspending (regardless if it's 30, 40 or 50m) for a genuine talent like Lacazette will be good business considering where they are. They're desperate for quality up front, they have no CL, they need a new 'marketable' star and they have money to spend. They are in no position to bargain with Lyon, considering the latter aren't in a hurry to move Lacazette.
There's more money in the English market than talent available to buy. 50m Euros for Lacazette would be fine.
You said if they can get him for 40million of the 49mil pounds it'd be a success. You wrote it like 2-3 posts ago, did you forget....? 40million pounds is like 52mil euros or so...so yea
It's all about the price Lyon wants to set. Do you think they would charge Liverpool 50mil but be like oh hey, Man U is a better club, let's only charge them 30mil? No club including Liverpool should pay anywhere near 50mil euros for him.
sounds a bit like Drogba, actually. He was not a proven star when Chelsea bought him, and already in his mid 20s. But you can never know how far someone will reach i guess.Maybe for some clubs, but why blow money on someone that is 24 and just had his breakthrough season in the French league playing for the second best team in the league.
52mil is a lot for any team, honestly. Even the EPL with all it's new money from the TV deal...unless you are Chelsea, City or Man U you still have limited funds. Liverpool need to be smart with their money, especially with all the over paying they did for average players with the Torres and Suarez money. Misusing their money is how they got in their position in the first place.
Let's see who else they bring in...one WC striker and a few other good players and they are in good shape. Their transfers have been mostly terrible though...50mil Torres, 80mil Suarez and now 65mil Sterling...they don't have much to show for it.
