Madrid need to mix it up with possession football and fast counter attacking and wing play.

If they do solely possession football, then they will be far behind barca. Cronaldo and Di Maria don't do possession football, so you need to play to their strengths instead - which is wing play. But with Alonso, Sahin and Ozil you can mix it up with possession football.
