Why can't Gio and ward be as sensible as you :D

well eddie, i agree on a lot both are saying. the overpaying just because of kaká & cristiano thing etc...

and i do lable l'pools teporary demands of 50m € as completly nuts. however, 40m € to me seems a reasonable START for negotiations. as definite price it's actually a bit too much. both teams should meet in the middle at 35m € and pay some respect to a player that 1) helped his current team winning the CL and 2) expressed his desire of playing for the team interested. it has a very bad taste IMO, that he's kinda left out completely.

Don't feel too sorry for these players Nandor, at the end of the day they will happily play for the team that gives them their huge paycheck.

it's the, let's call it "emotional part" that gets sold out i don't like at all. benzema, the so called french ronaldo, having the same amount of fans attending his presentation as raul albiol says a lot. madridistas are fed up with foreigners unless they are amongst the best of the world like kaká or cristiano. to see the emontional reaction of the bernabeu with regards to granero & negredo is priceless IMO. i certainly would not sell out that kind of ilusion created by canteranos & sure by spaniards like david villa, xabi alonso etc... as well, for 18 - 20m € in negredos case, 5m € diffrence in xabi alonsos case, 5-8m € diffrence in david villas case (hypothetically, at a time when they were willed to sell) etc...these numbers, for a club like madrid are peanuts compared to the ilusion & emotion these players generate.

if players like david villa, xabi alonso & co want to join madrid, it must not fail due to some 5-10m € difference in the end.

You can't tell much from these presentations, Xabi would not get 50K on his presentation either.

i meantioned only one presentation ward, the rest i meantioned is the reaction of the crowd in the bernabeu once negredo scored, granero came on and once granero scored, plus the emotions these typ of players generate in general. meaning during a whole season, not just on one occasion like a presentation for instance.

At madrid do you really differentiate so much between foreigners and Spaniards who aren't canteranos? For me as a culé there's no difference between the two, if I had to choose between David Villa and an identical French or Argentinian player then the only issue would be price. Do you think that's due to Barça's relative lack of connection with the Spanish NT? Obviously madrid like to see themselves as the team of all Spaniards so maybe that's the issue here.

I'm Belgian,i know Defour
And what makes you say it's laughable?

Whether he could keep up with the pace at Madrid is obviously a question that nobody can answer right now, but he's Standard's best player and has been carrying their midfield despite being only 21 for years. They almost knocked out Liverpool of the CL last year (and should have if Liverpool didn't get ridiculously lucky) and had a great European campaign, all with Defour running the show.

In Lucho we trust!
Sneijder cost you €28mil last year and you are selling him for €18 mil (wasn't he the next Di Stefano Gio?). Now you are prepared to pay €35mil for Alonso, who is not €17mil better than the Dutchman...

Madness reigns as usual in the capital.

If we are selling Sneijder for 18M then that is madness, I agree. Terrible, terrible move.

u can't really expect him to be in a big team. He is top in Belgium, perhaps good for middle places EPL sides but he will never be able to play in a giant club.

He is not better than the dutch midfielders in madrid right now, he will face the same deportation after x months.

Madrid want creative midfielders like Iniesta/Xavi.... they go ask Liverpool for that..
Defour will never get that level. He works like a horse. At that level u have to work hard and be very very creative against top level teams. He won't stand a chance in Spanish competition. In a more physical perhaps yes...EPL..

Well first of all Iniesta and Xavi are 2 different types...

Xabi Alonso is sober player similar to Defour, though obviously on a different level. It's the typical Belgian mentality of thinking we're not good enough, that is the reason why Holland has a much better team and players & coaches make it at big teams, while Belgian players don't.

You're saying he can't make it at a big club because... he hasn't made it at a big club yet? Well give him a chance and we'll see. I'm not saying Defour is gonna make it at Madrid for sure, but to say he has no chance while he has excelled at all levels he has played at so far is just weak.
